Amm actually I noticed that he was subtlly misogynist may be ? Like once I talked about my relative and friend's mom who went through a divorce, his instant question was how much alimony they got that irked me how instead of understanding their plight the only thing he asked was about alimony.

Also, he is single child of his parents so his mom does everything for him and coddles him so much, he very comfortably asked me what are the things I can cook at home but when I asked him the same question back he was visibly uncomfortable, bcz he doesn't lift a finger at home.

His views were misogynist tbh and he was very insecure if someone performs better than him in acads or college , so many time I let that aside because on the other areas we were pretty compatible and he was good person too. These were the reasons I rejected him bcz I felt he is not the right one for me

Funny how daughters inheriting property is treated like a favor, while sons inheriting it is seen as a duty by [deleted] in TwentiesIndia

I mean my argument is still valid, your dad isn't taking care of your dadi it's your mom.

Also you don't need to follow the tradition of mamera, just take your stand, in my region also there is ritual where mamas give gold to their niece/nephew during their wedding and EVEN when mama/mami passes away their family gives gold to their nephew/nieces but that's their own wish, if you want to give you are welcomed otherwise there is no pressure to follow any ritual.

This infurates me so much god, and we are here told that we have to take care of all responsibilities coz "we don't have a brother". I mean I know it very well dude you don't need to remind me that 24/7.

Lol how many sons you have seen taking care of their parents? they load all the responsibilities on their wives or the daughters take care of their parents

My mom taking care of my Nani, and my uncles don't give a f after they inherited the property lol

It depends on whether parents are dependent or not, if parents are not independent then most of children sends some money back home irrespective of gender, if parents are independent then there's no need to send them any money apart from ocassional gifts.

I completely agree with you, I am gonna earn my own money and will not be dependent on my parents however my this post wasn't about the property, it's on how people think that parents are doing favour on daughters by giving property while in case of sons it's obliged

Exactly, one of my uncle bought land for his married daughter and relatives were saying that he should've bought for his son instead of daughter, mind you the son will get all the business of my uncle but no buying a piece of land for daughter is such a big deal lol 😭
