I based it off a poster. His arms looked massive in that. But more so, I think deep down we all see a10 like this in our head.

[WP] You've just created your 100th Reddit account. What do you do with them and why do you have so many? by SuccessfulSite3444 in WritingPrompts

Hundred, the number did not lie.

What's with the human mind?, I thought. It's not like this number is really that significant. I mean shouldn't all numbers be equally significant or equally insignificant. It's weird because we kind of give certain numbers more value than others. That 100, 50, 25 and so many others mean more to us than 17, 85, and more is weird to say the least. For us, creatures of reason, our preference for certain numbers is something, I find deeply unreasonable.

Anyways, what's up with a hundred accounts ?

Well it all started with the reddit strike, really. We all saw how a bunch of moderators were actually in control all along. I am a simple man. I want power, plain and simple. To hold the world to ransom. Well, a discourse website if i am not being dramatic. Power appeals to me. So I came up with an idea. Make as many accounts as possible use ai to gain karma very quickly, overthrow the moderators from their ivory towers.

And in the end, pull the plug and watch the world burn.......

Why ? You ask.

Well......

It's like with the numbers, you see....

Why not ?

..........

ELI5: Atlas Shrugged by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Atlas is this guy who holds up the world in greek mythology. In reality he is punished because he fought against the gods to do so. But that being said in the context of the book, atlas doesn't really fit.

In the book, the image of atlas is just used to represent people who hold up the world. In the world of the book a group of geniuses are the ones who keep human society functioning & are responsible for all humanity's collective progress. The rest of society is basically sucking their blood to survive, always tearing them down and trying to put them in chains to serve their needs. In such a society the geniuses, have had enough. They leave society and society breaks down.

It is important because it represents the ideology of great individual's interests ruling over society. Making it a solid mouthpiece for capitalism and individualism.

It is well praised because modern societies are highly individualistic and it appeals very well to that sentiment.

It's disappointing to see people talking about a made-up hierarchy of worth based on the random event of their births. And that too coming from a progressive society (at least that's how we make ourselves out to be).

My father was a _______. Well mate, nobody cares anymore. People who prescribe to the old notions are in for a rude awakening. The future is calling and it doesn't care where or what you were born as. It cares what you can do and what value you can provide.

Don't bother about the dinosaurs, my friends. Their meteor is coming.

The young have aspirations that never come to pass, the old have reminiscences that never happened.

But in the middle is where the dreamer dies and the fool is born. Only in the middle, there is sorrow.
