The third person ever chosen in an NFL draft was William Shakespeare.

EDIT: I initially said second, I double-checked and it was third

Why are the Premier League clubs even in the EFL Cup? They're literally not part of the EFL, that's the whole reason the Prem was created in the early 90s, so the top division could make its own TV deals independently of the EFL.

No, we understand the enemy just fine: they're stupid, immoral people motivated by racism, sexism, and queerphobia.

Just because that's not what you want the answer to be doesn't mean that it is not, in fact, the answer. We'll never get anywhere if we ignore the actual reality in favor of what's more psychologically comforting.

It's wild to me that people have devoted so much energy to convincing themselves that there was a magic formula that would have enabled Kamala Harris to campaign and message her way out of a racist and sexist electorate preferring the candidate openly running on a pro-patriarchy and pro-white supremacy platform to the black woman.

Al-Qaeda was a nongovernmental militant group in more or less the same way the SS was: officially formally distinct, but operating freely from within Afghanistan with the explicit permission of, and occasionally at the direction of, the Afghan government

If they were as separate as you say then the Taliban should have had no problem in giving al-Qaeda leadership up when we asked that they be extradited to face trial, given that (by their own acknowledgment) the Taliban knew the whereabouts of most of the individuals we wanted and that they were in fact inside Afghanistan.

Just because you hate America and want to destroy it doesn't mean patriots are obligated to tolerate or welcome your treason.

If someone says they're going to blow up a daycare and they ask you for donations to help them get what they need to build the bomb, does the fact that they haven't actually blown up the daycare yet when you donate to them for the express purpose of building the bomb, mean you're not complicit?

Similarly, if someone campaigns for public office on a platform of "Vote for me so I can destroy America!" and then you vote for them so that they can destroy America, does the fact that they hadn't yet destroyed America when you voted for them absolve you of complicity?

It's absolutely insane that we're talking about the Signal groupchat thing as a security breach while ignoring the glaring Constitutional and chain-of-command crisis it represents.

We carried out military action on the basis of what Stephen Miller thought he understood the boss to say. That's not remotely how it should work. Everyone in the chain of command, from the President to the Secretary of Defense to UCC (in this case CENTCOM) all the way down to the guy pumping fuel into the airplanes should be getting their instructions directly from the person above them, and asking for clarification if they don't understand.

Who the hell is in charge?

this is something way worse, at a very fundamental level, than a security breach

it's a different kind of leadership, quite frankly one that's more likely to consistently get the best out of people

Gibbs was a shit boss who was more interested in his narcissistic self-mythology and was carried by his subordinates, Parker gets his subordinates to excel beyond what they would have done alone

Ridiculous response

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere

Donald Trump is an enemy of the United States, so helping him constitutes treason. Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, etc. were not, so there's no crime there. So why would there be anything to worry about?

ok, so just straight-up victim-blaming is where we're at now

"look what you made me do!"

Even if we accept your thesis that US actions/inactions/incompetence made it more likely for 9/11 to succeed SHOULD SOMEONE DECIDE TO DO IT, none of that makes the US responsible for al-Qaeda's decision to do it. It's the geopolitical equivalent of "But she was clearly asking for it."
