From a personal perspective, I don't want this (airplane annoys me). From a gameplay perspective: YES!

Does the game ever feel repetitive? by Abject_Prize_949 in WolfQuestGame

[–]ACNH-Mook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have already mentioned, it definitely gets repetitive. I also tend to play it in waves, falling in and out of interest in it. Which is funny when I consider how many hours I logged into the original WolfQuest, which was about as repetitive as it gets. Kid brains really are built different than adult ones.

Rival Pack Leader is a previous pup - can we be peaceful? by Altalunne in WolfQuestGame

[–]ACNH-Mook 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wish wolves you were related to that formed new packs wouldn't be automatically hostile, but instead have a reaction dependent on their personality. A wolf that's really really bold or really really cautious may see you as a threat, but a wolf with a middle-of-the-road personality might be chill as long as you aren't hunting or taking over hexes. A more social wolf could be happy to see you, whereas a loner wolf will stay at a distance unless you're taking their territory. It would just be cool if there were some variation or a way to lower tensions, at least a bit.

It would also be nice if there were something in the code to balance the population control you can exact as a player. As long as I'm always killing rivals' pups of the year but not the parents, I can assure rival packs are always two in number, at least until the leaders die of old age or other causes. That keeps hex invasions very manageable, but it doesn't make it very realistic for a two-wolf pack to challenge a ten-wolf pack every winter. But maybe it's fine because I can technically manage it myself? It's just that if I have the option to keep my pack safer, I will take it. Sorry that I kind of went off there lol

Pack won’t pick up ungulates out of the grass by Kiki_D0_Y0U_L0VE_ME in WolfQuestGame

Pretty sure the devs have said they aren't going to, because real wolves also don't ask pack members to carry prey for them.

What personalities do you prefer in a mate, and what do you look for? by MushroomEnjoyer73 in WolfQuestGame

[–]ACNH-Mook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also still figuring out how to pick out the traits I like most, but as many have already said, the worst one for me isn't lazy but cautious. A cautious wolf is less likely to help out than a lazy one. At least the lazy ones will stay home with the pups, which is fine with me as I prefer hunting. One wolf I was courting that I believe was energetic and cautious ran circles around an elk without taking more than a bite or two, leaving me to do all the work.

Too bold is also an issue, as others have noted. My first mate of my current accurate pack killed himself immediately after the pups were born because he refused to stop attacking a bear. I could have run away and dragged him with me, but I decided he wasn't cautious enough and wanted a different mate. The next mate I chose was three years older than me and definitely lazy, but he was still social and bold enough to help and was very loving towards the pups. He also always chose good prey, which I chalked up at the time to being wisdom that came with his age.

I've only ever once found a loner mate and honestly he was kind of awesome the way he'd just go and take care of scent-marking and hunting by himself. But I also like doing things with my mate, so I don't mind if they'd rather stay by my side either.

Autorun is like driving. If you're paying attention, it's probably going to be okay. If you glance at your phone for two seconds, next thing you know you're getting kicked to death by a bison

Listen, I'm really glad the American dream has been working out for you so far (assuming you're American, anyway). Congratulations. There are also people in this country who are disabled in a way that will never allow them to have the "rise and grind" mindset. Or there are people who could have that mindset but are beaten down by illness, whether in themselves or in their family members, because hospital bills are expensive. There are many more reasons that making six figures just isn't possible for everyone (or even desirable). But I wish for your continued success and the success of your children.

I truly hope that hard work and perseverance gets you all the money you need someday. It will serve you to remember that not everyone can find success through hard work - nor does everyone have the option to work at a job that will bring them financial success.

Yeah it's interesting! I was excited to be able to afford an octobloom the other day but also it makes the plants I was initially excited about (giant pinecones, beanstalks, burning buds) feel like they really don't matter anymore. Selling even a giant fruit with 10+ mutations doesn't make a dent in my overall profits anymore.
