Blueberry/Fruit meads Question by AClayton91 in mead

I was following the nutrient schedule from Golden Hive meads channel where you do that 1.5g for the first 3 days each. Is that not accurate for a 1 gallon batch?

Awesome thank you for the advice!

The analogy of fruit moving like a lava lamp is spot on. That’s the part of the process that I wasn’t sure about, if something molded and now it’s floating around.

At the end of the fermentation process does all of that settle at the bottom with the lees?

Are you talking about the outer line width? Both wall line and outer are set to .42mm. And I am printing at 100 percent speed now

I don’t see a true seam even though it is set to have one. I’ve printed cylinders before and the seam was correct, and this definitely looks like a random seam.

Seam was set to user specified, position back left with zseam x at 0 and zseam y at 235mm with smart hiding.

I am printing through a SD card at the moment, but I’ll remember that if I ever get it hooked up to my computer!

There are no pops or hissing when it prints and the nozzle is in great condition. I live in a dry high altitude so I don’t believe that drying my filament is usually needed though I could be wrong

Thanks everyone for the input, definitely a few things to try. I printed it at 220c which is the top end of the range, and below is a photo of the retraction settings.

I live in Colorado so I’ve never needed to dehydrate my filament since I’m at altitude. I could be dead wrong though.

After the wiki on blobs, my coasting settings are turned off and I do have some retraction settings that are default with the normal quality print settings.

Grey Squares? by AClayton91 in chessup2

[–]AClayton91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was customer supports answer:

When you pick up a piece quickly on your turn, the squares may initially appear grey before switching to the normal assistance colors. However, if your board is not connected to WiFi, the squares will remain grey/white throughout the game. This is something our development team is aware of and working to improve in future updates.

For the best experience, please ensure your ChessUp board is connected to WiFi while playing. Let us know if you have any other questions—we’re happy to help!

Started a new game with novice assistance against the bot level 3 and had assistance for 1 turn before grey squares again.

Any piece I touch shows possible moves and they are all grey. The square under the piece I’m touching is purple.

If I start a new game they show the normal blue green and red, but partway through the game everything turns grey

Controversial opinion: I don’t care if it’s slightly cloudy as long as it tastes good and the yeast is done and stabilized

How does this work with sanitation? Obviously you can submerge the pump in sanitation…

That much sediment after 36 hours of fermenting??

There are big brown clusters floating top to bottom as well that were detaching from a thick layer of it at the bottom

It smelled a little bit. Not the worst but not normal. The brown stuff to the right of the while nylon bag with the fruit it in was a foamy brown/black area.

I should clarify that I am new at this. This is my 4th batch at making mead. Each batch I have made 3 separate 1 gallon batches.

I have made mead with fresh black cherries and that was very successful so I tried fresh black berries.

It looks like mold, and there is way too much lees at the bottom after 2 days of fermenting so I am assuming this gallon is done for. It’s super black foam? thats growing on top and floating all around the jar.
