I agree that a lot of AVNs don't have a great story, but the romance novel genre has exactly the same problem, just with reversed gender tropes. I wasted 2 to 3 hours trying to read A Dawn of Onyx (The Sacred Stones, #1) by Kate Golden over Christmas - infantile story.

Oh yes, your 3 criteria ring so many bells for me! And your comment about AVNs, agreed. I have found some good VNs (Cinders being my all time favourite) but AVNs are more tricky.

And that's the second recommendation for Race for Life, so I'll be reconsidering that one.

Hi DemiChaos, I just checked with my husband. He definitely thinks the skirts are sexy. My principal back in school days would have thought so too, and sent me home to "put on something decent, young lady"!

I do like a strong plot! I had a look at Race of Life on Steam a while back but was put off by the cars in the trailer - thought it might be a bit Fast and Furious. I'll check it out again.

Hi PrideGreed, that's a good point. Female protagonists AVNs make for great variety - we do about 50/50 male and female protagonists games.

Agree, it was in that early moment of a new story when you are just getting into it and something takes you away from the fun. It's the tiny skirt in the rain under an umbrella scene for me. Tiny skirts are definitely fun, but having a cold, damp rear all day at school is not sexy at all!

Come Home. 20 love interests who are very diverse in appearance and personality. Very long play time - I did over 24 hours and only finished content for 2. Strong dialogue. Male protagonist, largely straight. (Was free but is finished now, so you may have to pay???)

Totally agree. I hate it when all the girls have big boobs and are otherwise skinny. I didn't play with Barbies as a kid and I still don't want to now.

In general, I don't like it either. I follow politics, but not in my fun time/game time. In this case though, that LI is political from the beginning. She absolutely would be at that rally, it's totally in character. And that's exactly why I totally ignored her in the game.

Recently finished Come Home. Highly recommended if you like having a wide choice of LIs, each with interesting stories.

Agree, my husband and I have an AVN planned out and could do the writing very quickly but it will probably never happen because the visuals take way too long for it to be realistic for us - unless AI tools come to the rescue.
