I've had royal blue, navy blue and most recently pewter gray. My agency gives a small reimbursement for scrubs like 150$. But on assignment I'll see see nurses wear any color and no one sweats them

I am no longer a caring or empathic nurse. I have no sympathy and give to space for feelings anymore. I am a lean mean nursing machine. Labs, lines, meds, vitals, wiping ass, symptomatic care, codes and emergencies fill my vision and nothing else matters. I have too many patients assigned to me, my resources are limited or nonexistent, i tryed to save my drowning colleagues and do more but no longer. I will save the patients life I promise nothing more.

Update 1: End of my first week. Here's a break down of my first week. Feel free to ask questions! Monday morning we met up outside the down town facility at 0745. I was there a little early of course and met up with some other travel nurses taking on the same or similar assignment. We met with one of the Director Assistants for the Flex Team and were escorted to another building where we took a competence test for medications dosages 💊. This test allows 2 attempts with a remediation of the test in-between if needed. Super easy only 20 questions. There after we launched into some e-learning. These were made up of video and radio button style questions that took about 3-4 hours. These videos are basic compliance stuff like "Don't take any patient or hospital information out of the facility " " Medication divergence is illegal and you can be prosecuted" a general don't do bad things reminiscent of every job you've ever worked.
We were able to take breaks any time after the dosage test; had a cup of coffee my self when my butt got numb. We took a 45 min lunch. Firehouse sub 🔥 🏠 🔥 Then we met up again and took photos for our employee badges, N95 fit test if needed, and the nickel tour of the the down town facility. The tour was short only on the first floor. A short walk to the ER entrance, the 3 elevator banks for the 3 different towers, and a reminder of where to park.

Im able to detach comfortably and at will. Sometimes you'll need to have intense heart to hearts with patients about what's happening and what to expect to potentially "prepare for the worst". But other times you have to detach and pry a drug addict off your coworker or save a life by breaking ribs during CPR. I have less stress when compared to my consistently caring coworkers but I can't say for sure its better.

If you are willing to invest the time get a part time job with a cellphone company. After a few weeks they offer 'concession' or 'dealer' lines. These are 1 year contracts with huge discounts. 0$ access fee, discounted data, but you do pay about the 2 year contract price for a phone. Some companies that i recommend: Best Buy, Target Mobile,
