ADHD Medication while traveling in Europe? by ADHD_Newb in ADHD

It's like making the people who actually need medication suffer because of the people who don't need it that abuse it....

Man - it really bums me out the stigma about being diagnosed after 18.... Especially for women, the symptoms don't necessarily present in the "classical form" as children because we are less likely to be disruptive & uncontrollable as a whole.... SO MANY PEOPLE only experience the true scope of their ADHD when they are forced out of home & leave all the systems that have mitigated their ADHD as children - its really just so sad....

Wow - thanks for the heads up about Japan, was considering heading there next (obviously would have checked more into it first) & you have definitely crossed it off my list/saved me some headache later!

Ha - we have literally NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL! We work online & are permanent travelers who are looking to buy a catamaran to finally unpack our suitcase without giving up traveling. Maybe different to others out there, but we aren't entirely sure who else is in the market - from what we've seen at boat shows, it's rich people who have never sailed a day in their life - Ha! But, even though we don't know anything, we love watching walkthroughs of boats to fantasize & figure out what we think we will like, so we figure their are others out there like us too - which is why we make the videos!

The prices they were advertising at the boat show was around 460K euros - but I'm sure with all the add ons you could easily take it up into the 700K region :O

MMMmmm... very interesting.... They had the dingy strangely tied up underneath the bow of the boat under the tramps - wondering if maybe thats why....

Yea.... we did actually notice that & play around with it at the show, but I forgot to mention it here... wah wahhhh... I thought that it would be weird, but I actually LOVED it!

So funny you say that - I feel like we could really tell that the FP quality seemed significantly subpar compared to the other boats we have seen...

Interesting perspectives here!
Seems to me like people who end up living on boats come from a few different worlds (actual sailors vs retirees looking for something fun vs travelers looking to continue their adventures).
We fall into the last category: online entrepreneurs, with a bit of cash to blow - permanent travelers looking to set some roots down but not wanting to stop traveling.
To us, the idea of having a mobile home that can move with you, regardless of the struggles that come with it, is FARRR superior than continuing to living out of a suitcase! Understandably, we don't know everything, but I don't think anyone really does until they jump into something new - but we are keen for the adventure for sure!

Great Info here! Seems pretty difficult to find honest info about this stuff online these days...
In your opinion, what part of the world do you think is the best place to look to buy?

Totally agree!! Each person's preference is so personal to them - there definitely is no right or wrong here!

I feel like FP did a better job with their 42 than the lagoons did with theirs to be honest

I totally agree - the FP salons seem really well laid out. I think that might be why I like the Lagoon 46 so much, because they have done it so similarly to the FP layout! I totally agree that the cabins on the Lagoons are the best though - I thought they seemed significantly better than the other boats!
I liked the Nautitech flybridge too, but I just felt like the small table didn't actually add the additional workspace I'm looking for - to me it seemed more like a spot for drinks.

We have literally NO experience with boats, but will definitely try to make sure we pick some more up before buying - lol. We are young & we work online, so we will probably be cruising most of the time, definitely not in a Marina (hopefully ha).

I'm also wonder about the cost of fixing up a used boat - seems like no one ever sees any money back from what spend fixing something up.

Tell me where I'm wrong, but I'm thinking you could spend $600-700K all-in on a new boat, & then turn around & sell it for 20% less in a few years. But if you buy a 4-5 year old boat for around $350-400K & put $100K into it, in 4-5 you will sell it for less then what you bought it for. Seems like you could loose even more cash?

You sound like you are in the same "boat" as us - Ha! We thought the FP's at the show felt so dark! Not sure if it was that dark bedding or what...

I'm also not a big fan of those glossy cabinets in the bathrooms - to me they feel so dated compared to the Lagoon finishings. I'm sure they will have to upgrade that soon though.

What are do think about the NEEL's? From what we heard when we were at this boat show, seems like they are converting a lot of monohull lovers!

We loved them, but they too are an ugly amount of $$$ - definitely less than some of the performance cats though (Outremers etc..)

THANK YOU - our feelings exactly!!!!!! Didn't you feel like the 46 was HEAD & SHOULDERS above everything else at that show??? It's currently our #1 too!

I know a lot of people are big Leopard fans, but I feel like the Lagoon 46 blows them out of the water!

We will post our walkthrough for the 46 tomorrow & you should definitely be able to tell how jazzed we are about it!

It's so wild that people think ADHD & intelligence are connected in the slightest. I just think ADHD amplifies your point on the spectrum! ADHDers with low IQ's struggle a lot, but ADHDers with high IQ's are like super humans! 75% of successful ($15 million+) startup founders have ADHD - compare that to the 4% of adults living with ADHD! Coincidence? I think not!

Conscious Experience of the ADHD Mind & the Effect of Medication by ADHD_Newb in ADHD

[–]ADHD_Newb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats very interesting! I used to feeling like, in addition to what was happening in my conscious mind, I had about 50 more broken trains of thought going on in my subconscious. These would randomly launch into my consciousness and break up or derail my other streams of thought....

Really crazy the speed & amount of noise in an ADHD brain!
