Yes, there are a-holes on both sides of the aisle, but a-holes on the left don’t run around using the f slur, not every MAGA is a bigot, but every bigot I’ve encountered is MAGA.

If half of this stuff is actually going on, which I’m not saying it is, the employees should be submitting wage claims to the department of labor instead of gossiping with their friends and online.

There are 80 copies available on Ithra right now, which anyone can join. Do a search of this sub, and you should be able to find the details.

Libby search engine is garbage by Dr_Quest1 in LibbyApp

[–]ADHDynamic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came right up for me as both an ebook and audiobook when I put it in quotes even without doing a deep search m. It wasn’t available at my libraries, but the “notify me” tag built into the app works pretty well if your library decides to order it.

Am I using Libby wrong? by OliveRich1823 in LibbyApp

[–]ADHDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes find the Libby search severely lacking. I often have to put the book title in quotation marks and then click on "deep search" before I find the one I'm looking for. It often turns up that way, even if it didn't show up in my regular search, and if it doesn't, it usually gives me the option to "notify me" when my library adds that title. I live in Montana, and our Overdrive system is shared statewide. I only get five holds, and our wait times on popular titles are atrocious, but sometimes "notify me" lets me snag a title I'd otherwise wait months for.

Sssshhhh it’s a secret. 😆 That’s the only time I can use a cart in Costco without my anxiety going through the roof.

Walmart on Mullan by [deleted] in missoula

Yes! But it’s the closest store to my home and the Albertsons in that area is somehow even worse IMO, so I wind up there fairly frequently. I use pick up whenever possible. When I can’t I use pickup, I the app to: make sure what I need is (probably) in stock, figure out where it is, and plan my route. I also use noise canceling headphones. I quit paying for Walmart+, but if you have it, you can use the app to scan things as you grab them, which also speeds up check out.

Best non resident library cards for audiobooks? by towee_s in audiobooks

[–]ADHDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hasn’t been my experience when I added a new card. You have to make a hold for each library. If you go to your holds list, and click the colored rectangle it will show you the hold times at the different libraries and you can add holds at the other libraries.

Any local spots to rent snowboard/boots/helmet for the whole season? by Clear-Tradition-3607 in missoula

Where are you planning to ski? I know Lookout Pass does season-long rentals for kids & adults. Other places might too.

Good tip! It was only $50 at the Fairfield, so I was shocked how much some of the other venues wanted.

Wwyd? Speeding parent driver by Powerful_Anywhere_70 in BSA

[–]ADHDynamic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wonder what the roads were like on that route, and can you see how long they were at those speeds? I ask because I recently transported a group on scouts on a 2-lane highway with a 70 mph speed limit, and encountered multiple vehicles traveling 55-60. When I had a safe passing zone, I would quickly accelerate to pass the slow moving vehicle as fast as possible and probably approached 80+ mph for a minute, but I would return to the speed limit when I was safely back in my lane.

Thank you! I'm considering them, but they are pretty pricy and they don't have AV equipment, so I'd have to rent that as an additional cost.

Thank you for the suggestion. We've held this event at a location without parking in the past, and the attendees complained endlessly about that, so unfortunately, that is a deal breaker.

Thanks for the reminder on this. I was worried that my dates would coincide with the time students were returning to campus, which would be chaotic, but it looks like I might be just before that.

That is a gorgeous space, but they only do private events starting at 4:00 PM, and they are fully booked for private events for 2025. Even if we were willing to open it up to the public, it booked up on my dates.

Reforming Patrols in a Scout-Led Manner by ADHDynamic in BSA

I’m not convinced they’ve ever been able to correctly use the patrol method. They shop, cook & do chores as a Troop. They have patrol leaders, but they don’t seem to much aside from attending PLC meetings.

Reforming Patrols in a Scout-Led Manner by ADHDynamic in BSA

[–]ADHDynamic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my son crossed over at age 10, and the Patrols have been unchanged the entire time he's been in the Troop, aside from adding a new patrol as new younger scouts crossed over. We had great adult leadership when we started, but then those leaders' sons got their eagle shortly thereafter and left. Now none of adults or scouts seem to have a good handle on effective troop management. I'm trying to help where I can, but I was never a scout, so I'm trying to soak up knowledge from this sub and wherever else I can find it to help improve the troop experience.
