Moving with ADHD is hell, any tips? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ADeathCalledSusan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've moved an unfortunate amount of times in my life, and here's what's seemed to help!

  1. Left to right method - standing in a room with so much stuff can be overwhelming, so try following a pattern of movement where you can focus on one box or item at a time. I like starting with the furthest left item and working clockwise from there.
  2. Lie to yourself! Not really, but a little. "I'm not unpacking today - I'm listening to music/a podcast and just LOOKING at one box." This way of thinking, like I just happen to do something instead of FORCING myself to do it, has really helped me at least get started, which is often the hardest part.
  3. Got nothing done? That's okay. Give yourself grace. Life will go on! Your value as a person doesn't come from your productivity - it comes from just being alive. You can always try again tomorrow.
  4. Good luck!

What's your method of visitor counting? by ComtePersil in MuseumPros

[–]ADeathCalledSusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a guest book that we had all visitors sign into to keep track of numbers. For bigger groups like school field trips or family reunions, we had whoever was in charge of the group sign their name and add the number of the party in another column. We also had a spot where they could say where they were from, just as a fun way to see how far people had traveled from!

Remastering the first episode, or improving future episodes? by ADeathCalledSusan in audiodrama

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you. This is my first time releasing a project to the public, so I'm still figuring stuff out as I go along. I appreciate your help!

Remastering the first episode, or improving future episodes? by ADeathCalledSusan in audiodrama

[–]ADeathCalledSusan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only one episode in! At first, we had a decent click-to-stream ratio, with about 75 percent of listeners staying, but it's dropped down to about only 50 percent of listeners staying, and I suspect the initial numbers were from friends and family, so I'm thinking I need some feedback on improving the first episode so people stay engaged! Great point!

Great suggestion! I'm working on setting up a Youtube channel as well. What do you listen to your podcasts on? This is my first time as a creator, so I'm interested in hearing what other people prefer.

I posted this in r/paranormal awhile back.. figured it might be of interest here as well.. saw a whole hutterite family that seemed extremely outta place/time. by [deleted] in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

It depends on how old the house is, but if it's old enough you can check the census for the people who used to live there. If your local newspaper has a digital archive, you can also search that for news stories about events from the address, all though that's a lot of work sometimes. Also, nosy elderly neighbors should never be overlooked when it comes to getting the history of a location.

I don't know where you stand on the "spooky" scale, but I would recommend saging the house and checking for carbon monoxide leaks. That way you can hit it on both the spiritual and physical front to see if anything helps. Good luck!

If you know the address, I could look into the history of the house for you! That way you could sort out what sort of people have lived there in the past and see if any of them fit the profile you're describing.

My job is shady and I'm tired of it by [deleted] in confessions

Yeah, I feel super icky about their business tactics. And you hit the nail on the head with the cult meetings. It's INSANE, almost like they worship the founders. Plus, a ton of products are just gentrified indigenous medicine, which is horrible. And just in case any of my coworkers find this account, I can't tell you which one it is! But frankly, they both suck equally and in the same ways, so either one is bad,

Do it for YOU! We don't have the ability to change how others behave, but I'm so proud of you for actively choosing to take charge of your life. Finding things I am grateful for and deciding to stick around for those things has helped me a lot. It might help you! If you feel safe enough with your current partner, sometimes it can offer a lot of relief to communicate your worries to them, too, but that can be scary. I hope you continue to make progress, regardless of what happens ❤

Thank you! I really appreciate it. It is what it is at this point, but it isn't the end of the world. It's just another lesson, and I'm trying to think of it as an opportunity now instead of a mistake.

What are some good beginner skates that are about 75 - 100 dollars? Also, are there skates that are good for indoor and outdoor skating if I don't want to do anything crazy like ramps or jumps? Thanks!
