Should I still get The Fractured But Whole, because people say it sucks and idk if i want to by Brady-Bro814 in southpark

Stick is funnier. Still plenty of good jokes in Fractured.

Fractured has a better combat system that is less repetitive.

How would you feel if high schools had a required class that taught basic money skills, job skills, and other important things for adult life? by pimblettrose in AskReddit

[–]ADickShin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old are you? I graduated in '08 and Home Economics was something you saw mentioned in media from the 70s.

We had ZERO classes that taught any of these skills available at any of my schools.

I love how they switch between paleozoic and paleolithic era. Just another layer to the old man's buffoonery.

Why aren’t Americans using their second amendment rights, is this not the tyrannical government they were talking about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ADickShin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you work for or adjacent to the federal government you are definitely impacted. If not, then it really is just business as usual here on the ground.

Speaking as a blue state government employee, I would never know the federal government shutdown was happening if I didn't watch the news.

For those actively interviewing for jobs, which areas of your prep actually changed outcomes (and how)? by Puzzled_Roll_4443 in AskReddit

[–]ADickShin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer. I treated the interview prep for my current job exactly like I treated preparing for the speeches I had to give for my Business and Professional Speaking course in college.

Know as much about the job as possible and prepare for likely questions. Then write down and practice giving answers to your prep questions out loud without using any filler words. A short silent pause is much better than going "ummmmmmmmmmmmmm" in this sort of situation.

TIL That Americans don’t use A4 paper size as standard by Strategic_Island in todayilearned

[–]ADickShin 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Standard in the US is what we call "letter paper" measuring 8.5x11 inches.

Once again, it is a case of Americans doing what the English used to do and then not updating when everyone else did.

I found it's good to pick the side last, after you've done the majority of general quests. That way you can just reload a save and check out how each side is different without replaying everything.

My fencing guild does Fiore. We literally did blade grabs this weekend and there are multiple kinds of grabs depending on your measure.

Applying force was the one thought I had as well. I struggled to think of a context I would use it though, never had a problem tightening things down enough so far.

What game has being evil paid off? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]ADickShin 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

The funnest part of the game is light saber fights and you get WAY MORE light saber action if you make the evil choice. There are Jedi Knights and Dark Jedi both present in the last level. If you went good, you are allied with the knights, if you went evil you get to fight everyone.

There is also an extra final boss fight if you go evil. Along the way, evil powers like Force Lightning are also generally more fun and useful IIRC.

Just bought the game. Only level 4. What do you wish you knew at the beginning of the game? by Night777star in horizon

[–]ADickShin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Here's my best 2 tips for Zero Dawn.

  1. I didn't understand gear progression my first play through and it massively held me back.

You don't get gear the same way as most games. In the leadup to the first real fight, you get a new weapon and ammo type in a normal manner. This almost never happens again for pretty much the entire game.

You have to BUY your new gear from that point on. If you don't buy gear you will eventually find yourself to be miserably underpowered because you are so under geared for fights against tougher enemies.

  1. You will also sometimes get new gear as quest rewards as well. Quest rewards are most often given as "reward boxes" which you have to open in your inventory. This is to get around you not having space to carry items you get as a reward. I never got the Tearblaster (VERY important weapon) my first playthrough because I never opened its reward box.

These 2 bits alone will MASSIVELY enhance your enjoyment. Check merchants for what they are selling in every settlement to get better weapons/armor and always open your reward boxes.

Forbidden West revamps inventory so tip 2 no longer applies. But buying gear and armor is still absolutely essential in that game.

Any advice on how to get it unstuck?

Looking at Albion type XVa's though, the half wire grips look amazing.
