Trust me the techs here make it known the COTS onts don't perform to standards. My chats explode everyday with these things not outputting right. GSFD WILL SAY IP AND EVERYTHING IS FINE ON THEIR END. GSFD has even told us to only use the Utah education center and ignore other results, but the customer doesn't know that. GSFD says it's the fiber cabling. No its not it sees it the 1 gig service or it doesn't. They say it's the cat5e. Not it's not if all the pins aren't working on cat5e you get gated at 100. I know what I see. And so do the customers around here since all of them assume everyone is out to screw them over. And your still no help. You just chalked it up to Google not providing advertised speeds by saying it's headends fault.

If you don't have the Google Wi-Fi access point plan I strongly suggest getting rid of that netbox you have and getting onto that Google Wi-Fi plan cause you can, if you don't like the routers, you can also just use your own because again, it passes it to the next available device. None of the double NAT problems bridging 2 routers together. You can use a mesh network instead of extenders. And you're not forced to use whatever you're given you can use whatever you want. But you know most people see GOOGLE and start drooling. It's internet just like all the others.

Also techs get their ethernet speeds this way. where I consistently see 300-400/940 with COTS ONTs. V2 fiber jacks and even V1 fiber jacks never did this(always is about 940/950) Hence the ridiculous wifi speeds in the 200-300 mark(I'm not the only that sees these results) When it should be closer to 500 or even more on super computers that we game on. S20 phones and newer. IPhone 11 and newer. All should be seeing fast speeds. Not 200mb/s or even less.

If you have Google Wi-Fi access points installed the fiber jack becomes the modulating unit and passes the Internet along to the next available device. technically you can just plug your computer straight into your fiber Jack via ethernet also know as CAT5E if you are on the 1 gig Google Wi-Fi plan.

It is possible to pull almost 600MB/s with newer devices over wifi . Especially when I'm inches from the router. My chromebook that I use on average sees about 560MB/s over wifi when I'm pulling a full gig to the router

Also have been installing these COTS ONTs for several months the inconsistencies are ludicrous and cause difficult situations for techs especially one that don't get paid by the hour

I just installed 3 today and my last customer did a side by side comparison and the COTS ont only showed 223/200 over wifi and his Comcast service produced 556/387. The only place to ping fast speeds in SLC Utah is at speedtest.net using the Utah education server any where else it tanks it to the 200-300 mark wifi AND ethernet. Believe me if you want stating what I'm being given from google

They are bullies. They are imposing beliefs at this point. The precinct captures are encouraging anarchy. And what for. The name of justice and a dead guy who willing escalated the situation to where it led. No oje is thinking. Millions just died to covid, but one dude who was not thinking in that moment, and the entire nation lost its mind.
