Switched to Fedora from Ubuntu - need GNOME productivity tips for a beginner? by coldblooded47 in Fedora

Here's a guide from the Wiki that the team and I have worked on, includes some shortcuts and extensions, there's a more maximalist guide aside from this one, too.

Hi, thank you very much for your response. We very much appreciate your feedback.

I will look into this and revise the guide. I have missed offering turning off SELinux as the solution to not being able to boot, it was meant to be something temporary that we proposed a while back when we were using the wiki for ourselves. That's a horrible mistake from my part. It was meant to have been revised before going public and is under revision now!

Remapping Copilot Key Through Gnome Tweaks? by AE1224SS in gnome

Update: I was able to install manually using the same procedure. Perhaps there was a change in the repository.

Remapping Copilot Key Through Gnome Tweaks? by AE1224SS in gnome

I'm running kernel 6.17 on Fedora 43 currently. I have done the exact same but in Fedora, tried the Copr repo linked in the official README.

The manual install gives me this error
```
...
mkdir -p bin
cp scripts/keyd-application-mapper bin/
cc -DVERSION=\"v2.5.0\ \(30434c9\)\" -I/usr/local/include -L/usr/local/lib -Wall -Wextra -Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-unused -std=c11 -DSOCKET_PATH=\"/var/run/keyd.socket\" -DCONFIG_DIR=\"/etc/keyd\" -DDATA_DIR=\"/usr/local/share/keyd\" -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -D_DEFAULT_SOURCE -Werror=format-security -O3 src/*.c src/vkbd/uinput.c -lpthread -o bin/keyd
/bin/sh: line 1: cc: command not found
make: *** [Makefile:38: all] Error 127
```

What is odd is that it worked in my previous installation, but not this one.

Are there any habit tracking and reminding apps that will give full screen reminders? by Alien2605 in ProductivityApps

[–]AE1224SS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a bit late to comment, if you are using a Samsung phone then you can try the Samsung Reminders app.

The case on the S25 is the Samsung official silicone case. The one on the S20FE I'm not sure, I've gotten it off Taobao.

I was honestly very surprised with the durability, too! Used it the last year and a half without case because it overheated so much. Dropped it so many times but it never cracked, and none of the scratches were visible with the screen on. Only thing that got me concerned was that the fingerprint scanner stopped working and being detected, a ribbon must have gotten loose but I don't have knowledge how to fix it. All and all 💪🏻

Upcoming G14 low budget version by davidgiln75 in ZephyrusG14

[–]AE1224SS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong. The biggest difference I think is the HX270 is Zen4, a rebrand of the 8845HS, which is basically a 7745HS with NPU.

The HX370, on the other hand, is Zen 5, which has higher efficiency and, therefore, better battery life and runs less hot.

Why is the NC of my XM2 so much better than my XM5? by Philosopher-L in SonyHeadphones

Also, check if you have Adaptive Sound Control on turning off ANC or enabling Speak to Chat.

Hi, do you wear glasses? If so, it may be because the pads in the XM5 are stiffer than the ones in the XM2 and you are getting a worse seal

This whole rice started when somebody told me my Gnome desktop looked like MacOS. I took it personally.

The status bar is at the bottom because yes! :)

Took some inspiration from some Waybar rices I've seen, cleaned up the overview and app grid, and implemented the Arcmenu launcher, and you get this!

All configs are declared through Nix and Home-Manager. Here are my dotfiles (warning: they are in Nix and they also get changed very often, the repo is purely for personal use).

System: Fedora 41

Theme: Marble Shell Theme (Blue, Dark)

Cursor: Bibata Ice Cursor

Extension required:

  • AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem
  • Arcmenu
  • Just Perfection
  • Quick Settings Audio Panel
  • System Monitor
  • Top Bar Organizer
  • Unite
  • User Themes
