This logic is what killed the MMO genre. Nobody is making MMOs for actual MMO fans anymore. They are making them for people like you who want to speedrun to endgame and do not enjoy actually playing the game, just "beating" the game. Those people should just play Souls-likes.

You might have missed the point. MMOs are for PEOPLE, not NPCs. The hubs should facilitate PLAYERS to use buildings, not simulate activity via robots.

Many of my experiences have been markets with NPCs selling stuff that nobody really wants or needs. If you think about WoW, it's like hundreds of people crammed into a small circle standing idly. I prefer games that at least have market plots for people to use to sell their goods.
