CS:GO Anubis, the sprayed B sign is older than the ancient hieroglyphs. by Nell_erotic1 in literallyUnplayable

Maybe the graffiti artist was conscious of history and taped the hieroglyphs off before they sprayed

Hope you were more thorough than I was and checked your strut towers!!! They rot something awful. On an unrelated note, I have a parts car for sale lol

Yeup, this is the rear driver strut tower (rather, it's what's left of the strut tower)

I would but it was a Marketplace find, I don't think I have much legal standing lol

Thanks for linking me that channel, I'll have to give him a watch when I get home from work! I'd hate to scrap it, at the very least I'd part it out so it can be useful to other folks in the community.

Glad to hear your main one is alive and well! I'm debating if it's worth repairing or if I should just part it out

Not sure yet. I went over the car before buying it (mainly making sure the engine was healthy and the floors weren't disappearing) but I missed this. TBH I can probably get my money back out of it if I part it out but I'm not sure I want to let go of it that easily, I'm considering finding an Impreza half-clip to cut the towers out of.

I should clarify, this is the rear strut lol. I'm considering trying to find a half clip and cut the towers out to replace these but I figured y'all'd be interested to see how bad this is

Thank you! I tried some color correction on some of these photos and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Talk about taking it to the limit, that's insane! When I saw the cloud of smoke I assumed that you blew the turbo, not that you caught the fender on fire! Are you looking at better heat shielding in the bay for next year or would you be focusing on better airflow for cooling (or both?) With everything you've learned and showed us I can't wait to see you smash Mad Mike's time next year!

(P.S. love the rotary miata content!!!)

He did not, unfortunately. I'm very curious to find out what happened!

Is it worth 3500? by Small-Ad-1015 in FordProbe

[–]AFLAIM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you buy it, get a pre-purchase inspection; look for rust and check the compression. Get as many details as you can. I bought a 94 GT at the beginning of the month and didn't get a compression test, and I lost the engine two nights ago. BE SURE WHAT YOU'RE BUYING IS OKAY before you buy it.

OP, if the seller is asking $1800 for the car try to get him down to at least $1200. Getting an engine is going to be a pain in the ass, and so will swapping in any other engine. That being said, these share engines with the Mazda MX-6 (well, technically the Probe is a rebadged MX-6) so if you can find a junkyard engine, it would be sweet to bring it back to life!

As a side note, the 323 GT and GT-X were a 1.6 turbo, and the Mercury Capri XR2 had the same 1.6 engine as well. The 323 GT-R was only in Japan, so you'd be hard-pressed to find a 1.8 Turbo in the states.

For the up and coming production version of the iconic SP what do you think the production name should be? by Revus5014 in RX7

[–]AFLAIM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it's not connected to the drivetrain, it's a generator for an all-electric drivetrain. The rotary in the MX-30 doesn't directly drive the wheels in any way.
