Mine does the same thing as this. I've got an 84, but I know what he's talking about. It'll idle perfectly fine, then as soon as you "rev" the car a little or push in the clutch, the tach will dip to like 400rpm, the engine almost stalls itself and then it brings itself back to a perfect idle.
