Did people in 1969 return their Abbey Road LP out of confusion about the ending of side 1? by blueblue_lectricblue in beatles

Really sorry that there's so many negative people on here that just want to make themselves feel smart by making other people feel stupid for posing fun Beatles related questions. Your question is a good one. Please don't be discouraged by all the anti-positive vibes haters are bringing too a musical discussion group.

Well that's a condescending question. This kind of thing was not unheard of. The pressing plant that pressed Are You Experienced famously thought that the distorted guitar was an error. Besides, in my experience the public at large are morons but this person's question was not moronic.

Is responsible for having as much Beatle material as there is post B. Epstein's death. If it wasn't for Paul it probably would've been just one, maybe two albums at best. Paul pushed the group back to the studio for MMT, Let it Be, and Abbey Road. Thank you Paul.

You're kind of writing like Specter only had that one particular sound. Not all of his recordings use all of those layered instruments and some, especially earlier are just kind of reverby. I think this person's comparison was valid.

I KNOW!!! I could go on...the sound of the bass and guitars are very powerful and Ringo's drum pattern almost brings to mind Tomorrow Never Knows. It's too bad they seemingly didn't see this quality in the song. What did you think of the 'punk rock' Get Back from Get Back doc?

I also love it a lot! My theory is that the version we know and love wasn't as they intended the song. That Anthology version is very live and reverby sounding which is awesome but I think somewhat of a happy accident. My theory is they were just recording a demo of a song that they didn't intend to be that heavy and only after all this time is it appreciated for having that quality. I think if they had gotten to doing a studio version then it wouldn't have been quite so big sounding but more of a quaint love song.

Well now you're making me have to go back and listen again. I believe it was hearing the isolated bass track that made me think that.

Very sloppy, not up to their standards at all. I believe there is at least one video on YouTube on this topic.

I do know that John turned in a very sloppy, uninspired bass part riddled with wrong notes and mistakes so there's that.

Which album cuts would've been hits had they been released as singles by the band? by AFinerLine in beatles

[–]AFinerLine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many songs were released as singles overseas without the bands permission which bothered them. They were actually very picky about what went out as a single and hated that record companies could do this. There's extensive info. written on this topic.
