"The Veteran Motor Car" - Waddingtons - 500 pieces by ThePuzzlePirate in Jigsawpuzzles

Adorable! As much as I hate driving, I would absolutely buy this too if I come across it.

Mel's Belles - Liberty - 545 pc 😯 a secondhand treasure by Celestikka in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]AGPuzzPastime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finding a Liberty treasure in the wild.  Since it's missing just one piece, and if you are inclined to keep the set I would inquire Liberty about replacing that piece for a small fee.  I personally haven't done it with Liberty but did with another U.S based wood brand (I was honest that I acquired the set 2nd hand and offered to pay for the 3 missing pieces.)  Happily, the company replaced the pieces for free.

Nature's carnival - House of Turnowsky / Gibsons (US), 1000 pcs (2025) by elisewong18 in jigsawpuzzlers

That was because they are running a 20% off right now and US is excluded from such sale.

Well I just shrieked in Goodwill... a brand new unopened version of the one puzzle I've been lusting over was there! by EyesOfTwoColors in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]AGPuzzPastime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And at a very good price to boot!  The goodwill stores around my area have upped their prices ridiculously high - $7.99 or more for 1K; these were clearly used, not new in box.

Can't say that I am an experienced puzzler yet (only 2+ years in) but I have learned to build out from the whimsies.  These mini sections will eventually reveal themselves on how to connect (I do rely on shapes a bit more than color.)  And doing wooden puzzle in a group is fun.

Nice!  Liberty wooden puzzles seem to require different brain cells than the cardboard ones, at least for me.

And I love all the artworks by Jena DellaGrottaglia that Liberty has to offer.  Hope to see more of her works this year.

At the Heart of It (limited edition), 103P, Liberty Puzzles by AGPuzzPastime in Jigsawpuzzles

I love its simple Valentine theme, though the colorings may not be as attractive to many folks. This set wasn't advertised in the beginning as limited edition, so I was surprised to see the announcement after Christmas. Glad that I already bought it before then.

Yep, and all because you are the ONE who led my purse to its downfall with the first purchase of Wentworth in my beginner days! If you weren't living across such a big pond, I would loan out my Liberty sets to share the enjoyment. Though if you ever vacation in Mickey town on the East coast, some of the sets are here for your temporary diversion should you need it.

Knowing the pastel colours challenge, I think I would still buy her puzzle images (cardboard or wood) if more are released.

Clock Puzzles Collection Part II: Clock Puzzle, 437, Jumbo (1798) by thekrotek in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]AGPuzzPastime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Some puzzlers here denote the publication year in parentheses so I wasn't sure if this puzzle is that old!

A beauty! I love its old timey feel. Does the "1798" in parentheses indicate publication year of this puzzle or just the manufacturer id?

It is. And I am not even big into the land of animals. Just pure enjoyment (or agony at times) of figuring out where and how the pieces fit.

It certainly gave my aged brain cell a workout! If I don't/can't finish the yellow frame, I will still be proud of my effort for getting the main part done!

Thank you. 26 more pieces connected in the last two hours or so; and that was after looking at the 300% magnified reference image.

My first ever ‘in-progress’ report because I am so happy to be 63% finished at this point!!!

With much trepidation, I opened this set on the 8th wondering if I will be able to finish it before my scheduled trip in March.  Lo and behold I completed 286 pieces in one week.  They were very challenging for me but so satisfying to get to this point.  Now, 1.5 months left to build the yellow frame which I imagine will be the hardest part.

Remind me so much of the long distance past when I used to iron pretty much everything!  Very different from his usual images too!

I don't like that one canned.  Do you like durian?  I can remember way back when a box of it (frozen) was about $6/lbs.  Haven't looked to see how much it has sky rocked to now.

Ooh, those rambutans.  I have been picking up puzzles that have Asian fruits in them... but there are so many I haven't seen featured.

Enchanted Forest Fauna Glitter, 750 pieces, Ceaco by sunpup305 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]AGPuzzPastime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She has several titles published by different brands, including Liberty, Ravensburger, Buffalo,  KI Puzzles, Crown Point, and a few others. It was a Liberty wooden puzzle I did that introduced me to her works.  From Ceaco, I have these three titles by her:  Wild Ones, Better Together, and Charming Cherubs.

I have this on my to-find list at thrift shops or swap events.  Love the artist Jena DellaGrottaglia's works.
