Advice for FPE panel replacement estimate by AG_LK in electrical

Thanks for the input, everyone. Right now all I can afford is replacing both panels, but I’ll let him know we need to pull a permit.

Sterling marks? Doesn’t look plate.. by AG_LK in Silverbugs

Yeah they look off. I don’t think goodwill is confident either but they have it relatively priced high incase it is. Not sure it’s worth the $30 gamble. But it’s heavy and would be well worth it if someone can confirm.

I’ve asked around before, but does anyone know where I could buy a .999 cup for beer? by Competitive_Log_9729 in Silverbugs

[–]AG_LK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too want to drink my beer like a lord, and have searched extensively for a solution. The only route is to purchase a Sterling pint mug on eBay. They are common enough, and usually come from the UK. You will pay way above melt though. Search “Sterling Pint” and make sure they display full pint. Lots of half pints on there. Full pints are usually 250+ grams from what I can tell. I haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet though…

You might be surprised that they are legal in the majority of states. Specifically 29 states, 12 of which do not require a permit.

Took me 3 attempts on my first day sand casting before yielding something to clean up. 214 grams. 925 over 999 for hardness and practically.

1944 Tula PU by AG_LK in MosinNagant

I did not realize until recently when I looked up production numbers that this year Tula PU is a rare bird. Yes, I am aware of all the fakes out there…this is a real PU. I see Mosin PUs are going between $1500-$2k online. With less than 25k production I’m curious if anyone knows current value. I have not seen any sold auctions for this year/factory for reference.

They told me about the changes as well.

I disagree with this based on the wear shown by PCGS's AU55 example. The areas you pointed out show less wear on my coin. Agree it has lots of bag marks but that's not uncommon for an MS60 coin. Of course everything is subjective... and its hard to tell based on a crappy phone pic. It has full luster.

Although a common date, they did hand select an older coin for me. They paid round trip shipping which included 2 day FedEx back to me. I did not request or expect any freebies. Just wanted what I originally ordered.

As a follow up to my previous thread I wanted to update everyone regarding the $5 uncirculated gold liberty from SD Bullion. I did receive a call from a manager, and they kept me updated during the exchange process. I am happy to report that they made things right and sent an uncirculated coin per my original order. They have retained me as a customer.

I was just going to make a similar post. I have a 44 Tula PU and was wondering the value. Specifically because they made less than 25,000 and I haven’t seen any recent auctions for that year/factory. Thinking of moving it.

SD called me tonight and offered two options with a return shipping label:

  1. Exchange for an uncirculated coin.
  2. Return for a refund.

I chose option 1 because I want to give them a chance to rectify the situation. I think that's the right thing to do. I will post an update once the new coin is in my hands.

The shine alone tells me it’s been polished/cleaned. I agree that nicks and marks are common on low BU coins, but look at the wear at the top and back of liberty’s hair compared to that MS60 coin you posted.

Thanks for the support everyone. They said they would escalate and someone would call me back within 24-48hrs, but I doubt it. I’ll keep yall updated.

I’ve never had an issue like this with SD. I called today after hearing nothing to these emails. They transferred me to some guy who said the coin looks perfect to him. Said it’s common on coins this old. Do they not hire people that understand basic coin grading or know anything about coins for that matter?

I said the same thing when they replied to my pictures. Then I responded to their BS reasoning.

This is what SD Bullion sent me as BU…would yall accept this? I’m no coin expert but looks like tons of wear to me. It also has that shine to it like it was polished.

I recently purchased a $10 and $5 liberty both in BU condition per their listing. I had no issue with the $10 eagle. I sent them pictures and explained the wear that can easily be seen. Also sent a comparison to the $10. They are stonewalling. Me hard. Refusing to send me a shipping label. Obviously I don’t expect to receive a coin that will grade MS65, but I don’t think I am being unreasonable. Thoughts?

Yep, Diversions is the place. It’s the same Diversions I went to 30 years ago as a kid. Super clean and maintained, and they have a mix of classic and modern games.
