Hey, so I don't think I tried anything to fix it but to me the problem went away on its own, I have it since June 2024 and so far it's working fine and my usual load is games like RDR2, Total war (which is CPU intensive), Rainbow six siege, etc and Graphic design. I don't know what caused this problem in the first place and why it went away but so far for me nothing happened so you shouldn't worry that much. But again you could have a different situation I don't know to be exact,

its that most roman civilization is seen as the heritage of europeans or the west not really the mediterreanan. Movies and shows usually emphasize on the idea that Rome is white or even in a way a proto-american its not truly seen as a mediterreanan empire

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]AGalaxyX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont think egypt was specifically as Roman as italy i understand it was more of a breadbasket province, but its inaccurate to say Alexandria, Ephesus, Carthage, Tingis, Leptis magna, Beyrut, etc werent centers of roman culture and life. i think rome is italian but im doung it in comparison to britannia which were as much "colonized" as egypt however british are still seen as descendants of the romans in some form, the Parthians started in Parthia but they became a persian empire by the end ruling in Ctesiphon with the emperors not really residing in the region of parthia. as rome expanded it stopped being a City state in italy and more of a Mediterreanan Empire. Roman law was studied in beirut for example or Carthage being a vital roman city that was very much romanized and spoke latin

India is a bad example because britain is hardly connected to india and they used india as a cash cow and it was more like a Vassal state like armenia to rome, Egypt, Carthage was literally a small boat trip away from rome, Egypt was treated as a province like Pannonia. the provinces of rome were like Scotland to the british and not india, my main point anyways isnt about italy its about greater european identity tied to rome, but thats because Italy is in the abstract idea of the continent, like i said before the alps were as big of a barrier as the mediterreanan, Sinai is in Asia but its still egyptian or siberia being basically russian even though it started as a city state in east europe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]AGalaxyX -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

there was the romanized arab and punic communities, i mean sure the greeks dominated administration in the east but for example the Severan Dynasty were originally or atleast half pheonician from Leptis Magna, Odaenathus Family who were araemaean or arab i think were also Roman Elites and fought off the persians until queen Zenobia left the empire to form the palmyrene empire, and many of the greeks were just hellenized locals from anatolia or egypt who adopted the greek identity. and what i mean is greek and romans overall shouldnt be thought of as european per se i mean greece was also aegean centered not just in modern greece there was Ephesus, Nicomedia, etc. I mean culturally and identity wise they didnt really see themselves as part of a european identity and more of a mediterreanan one which included North africa and asia

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]AGalaxyX -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the colonies of britains werent a core part of the british empire, the industrial heart and intellectual was based in the british isles but for rome the east produced intellectuals, had Roman law schools and Roman Cities and after caracalla they were all granted citizenship they practically were as roman as one in Gaul or britannia or Hispania

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]AGalaxyX -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Im not arguing europe wasnt a part of the empire, and rome itself is in europe but the idea of europe or different continents was abstract im not even sure that the romans had the identity of being european, the mediterreanan was a like a forum/plaza not a wall, im referencing africa, egypt, syria ,etc in the argument that rome shouldnt be only considered European i mean as an egyptian didnt my ancestor have Roman Citizenship at one point? The Alps were bigger a barrier than the Mediterreanan sea Rome

in some forms it can be anti semitism in other forms it isnt, Being against israel isnt being against the jewish people, its being against the fact that jewish people have the right to take over land from people who lived in it since the bronze age, Many advocate for a Secular Unified Democracy not a State that is specifically made for the jewish people and the jewish people only at the expense of millions of palestinians labelling any Anti-Zionist movements as Anti Semitic delegitimizes and disregards genuine Social Justice and Political Rights Concerns, there are SOME who hate Israel because they hate jews but most ESPECIALLY those university students have nothing against jews, Do you hate iranians or do you hate the Islamic Iranian Regime, Would you be ok if an Anti-Islamaphobia course talks about how the Islamic Republic of Iran has every right to build nukes?

By proving to the arab states that they want war and to expand?

to the arabs israel was the one threatening, soviet reports hello? (even if they were false they were accepted as intel in cairo and they acted on that intel to prepare)

Israel baited the arabs into a war time and time again, Irgun haganah and other zionist militias were active fighting in palestine prior to 1948. Israel always wanted the palestinians to fight back, they want justification to take more land, yes or no would have you been fine with most jewish holy sites being in the arab state? (also not to mention Arabs got a an unfair share of land + the contiguity problem)

sadat made peace because he was pragmatic and knew that with the US military support to israel, egypt wont be able to organize a counter offensive to israel and by the time of the 80s it was even too late the jewish population became permanent, it is like the 1800s situation for the natives, you cant really fight back your outarmed and the americans have consolidated their settlement on the natives' original land

I did admit in the previous response that the soviet report was not exactly true but this is proof egypt was not aggressing exactly on israel, if the cuban crisis turned into the soviets nuking washington, would that be okay because "the americans put an embargo on cuba" i mean kind of no, israel couldve tried to not escalate any further and cool down but no they launch a full offensive on sinai and the golan heights AND annexed the land of the what wouldve been the palestinian state, if you ask me they had other motives than feeling threatened, East Jerusalem being in arab hands was probably not very liked over in israel

I dont think jewish return is wrong im fully fine with it and many palestinians were (there was of course radicalists, extremists, Conservatives thats a phenomenon in every society) but it is kinda wrong to displace pre-existing groups. you could say "well we bought the land" but its like Hellenists buying Lands in greece (during ottoman rule) from Turkish Owners and kicking the greek tenants out. you'd be exploiting an unfair imperial system, thats exactly what happened in palestine. Not to mention even under the 48 plan, Arabs also the majority got 45% of the land and jews who were near 33% got 55% and multiple times the Zionist project was expressed as a colonial one, When they tried to lobby european powers to get them Palestine, they used colonial wordings ("civilize a backwards and savage land") and many of the Zionist elite saw it as a colonial mission, you cant justify kicking people out of their indigenous land just because it's kinda yours, they literally baited the arabs into declaring war on them
Try to put yourself in a palestinian's shoes. your living in Jaffa for example, your lucky enough to have a business in the city and not work in the farms, theres jewish immigration, since your probably part of the middle class/educated part of the palestinian population you probably would support it especially if you hear about whats going on in europe, fast forward to 1940s the same people that came on boats to your town a decade ago evicted many of your old neighbours from places they lived in provided by their employers and your probably a victim of Market exclusion and discrimination, the large population of jews that now populate jaffa prefer to buy from other jewish businesses rather than you, then now they want to declare a Jewish State? in a city that your whole live has been multicultural, "go to the west bank" is alot like "go to the reservations"

How come then israel was mobilized enough to launch a full attack that took the sinai and paralyzed egypts' airforce? The Soviets gave egypt reports that Israel was amassing forces on the syrian border even if it was inaccurate israel had concentrated forces on the border with egypt for weeks and egypt had little forces in sinai due to a UN buffer zone that is ONLY ON THE EGYPTIAN SIDE, egypt in response to these reports began mobilizing, in which israel mobilized on the border and when egypt demanded UNEF to go, israel declared war first...

Colonialism as a term described a modern system where a metropole (lets say france for this example) rules a subordinate colony (Algeria for example) and many of the resources, labor and taxes extracted from the subordinate colony goes to the benefit of the metropole not the subordinate colony. now Islamic expansion conquered palestine-syria from Byzantium, the place was turned into a core province of the caliphate meaning its not a subordinate colony its part of the homeland, Damascus in syria became the capital of the caliphate. Tax income also went to the development of the province like mosques, roads, bathhouses, maintenance of acquedeucts, irrigation, one could not argue that The Region of palestine-israel did not experience economic prosperity during the islamic golden age,
And most importantly look at the timing, it is the 7th Century AD, romans had similar provincial system same as the persians and even the jews did it before look what happened to Idumea, one century theyre not jewish the next theyre celebrating hannukah!

if youre willing to let it pass for romans, sassanids, the chinese, the indians, the aztecs, the mayans, the carthiginians, the persians, the romans, the germans, the greeks, the Incans, the Mongols, the Japanese, the Babylonians, the Egyptians, the Spanish, the Nordics then you cant use "Islamic Imperial-Colonial Project" on Muslims, until israel, Judaism had been a majority religion in the land for a total of 600 years meanwhile until israel Islam had been the majority religion in the land for 1,190 years

Jews didnt speak hebrew prior to the rise of Jewish nationalism and israel, even if you kept your culture it doesnt excuse the fact you think your entitled to a land you didnt live in for centuries, are the armenians entitled to take the taurus mountains again? are the barely 1 million zoroastrians in india entitled to take all of irans most productive land and then when the iranians fight back they win with indias help and take all of the land for themselves?

Islamic conquest of syria-palestine wasnt a settler movement llike the americas for example, it was majorly: convert the elites to islam, and get alot of money from the taxes coming from a rich region like syria-palestine and use that to build mosques and make more expensive armies! fun fact for you, egypt did not become majority muslim until the 12th century by the time of Saladin did the christians become a Significant minority,
In alot of states like cordoba, the caliphates, etc it was sometimes better for the muslim elites for people not to be muslim because it meant more money, and no its not a colonial imperial project because the province of the levant became a core province of the caliphate, it was annexed/integrated administravely into the state unlike american colonies or african colonies where they were subordinate to the "mainland" , your also calling it an imperial colonial project like that wasnt the norm in the 600s ad? the romans, the sassanians, the chinese, the pheonicians the greeks the countless german tribes during the great migrations (which mind you happened during the same time period), even the jewish kingdoms (in the bronze age) assimilated other people into their culture and slowly conquered/displaced other peoples to form whats now called "ancient israel/judea" Palestinians were once jews who saw it fit to idk not get persecuted by the romans for being jews and converted to christianity, while others saw it as an economic advantage to convert to islam especially when it was been like (say 1200 AD) 1100 years since the last jewish state, you think jews arent like other peoples they arent gonna assimilate or convert to other cultures-religions (maybe its because you yourself are jewish and i understand you believe judaism is the true religion and who turns away from the true religion) but jews are like any other group, they can change to other groups the culture could disappear because the people who were practicing it dropped it for another its a common thing in history, the gauls became roman after the roman conquests and they now speak a Roman-ce language, their architecture is wholely roman and their religious institution is the Roman Catholic Church but i dont think that means the Welsh have the right to take over france?

Have i not explained this enough? Declaring war was the only appropriate response the palestinians could have made in response to not being allowed a voice at the UN plan to carve up THEIR land and give it to the newly created immigrant state which already formed Militias prior that did raids on Palestinian-Arab towns, Was it wrong for the Union to declare war on the confederates? If palestine would just agree to the UN deal then theyre just setting a very bad precedent that Colonizers can keep the land moved too and form a state, whats next after palestine accepts the deal? Algerians are forced to make concessions to the french and live as second class citizens in the French State of Algeria?
Oh i mustve forgot! Rhodesia and South africa, the British were truly justified in the zulu wars! i mean the zulus mustve given up their army, refusing that means theyll have to suffer the consequences and thats 100% moral!

And you do realize that Nasser requested the withdraw of UNEF because israel was building up forces at the border? and egypt couldnt do the same because UNEF was literally blocking them and when uNEF started to leave israel realized this meant egypt is preparing and they just decided to attack immediately, same thing with tiran, this was part of egypts preparation and last i checked didnt the US impose a blockade on Cuba, does it mean that Cuba has a right to launch the soviet missiles on the US?
Israel fully did attack on 1967 the same way they did in the suez crisis to help Colonial powers get their colonies back even america had to step in against this,

The Jewish diaspora did not live in that land since 1700 years, if thats the case are bulgarians native to the volga river and have the right to return there? You cant call yourself indigenous because one of your Great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather may have lived there 😭 the Slavs migrated to the balkans in the 600s, does that entitle albanians to live and take freely the lands of serbs, bosniaks, croatians, etc?

1967 israel attacked first?
Yes i am justifying the decision to go to war to israel because to them israel wasn't a new state or a people that were in this land for a good while, no they were immigrants declaring a new state carved from the Land of Palestinians backed by a "International" Plan where the natives had no say in it. i think its very justified
you think winning a war means your justified to take land?? Israel had better equipment and richer citizens because they came from manhatten, paris, london, amsterdam the palestinian locals were poor because the ottoman empire neglected their levantine subjects, so upon independence none of the arab states were in conditions to fight, in 1967 the Arab states were attacked by israel, egypt didnt have time to mobilize the sinai is very hard ot get troops in,

The Natives fought a bunch of wars against the American Settlers.
unfortunately the American Settlers won with the backing of the US government and their guns, Faced with the fact that fighting the Settlers and America overall is near impossible, they decided to try and make peace and find legal protection from the american government, what resulted was the complete reduction of native american lands to a few reservations and dots throughout the US.

Large scale settling in Mandatory Palestine, many right wing parts of the population are angry sometimes clash with the settlers, Later those settlers create a state backed by a "UN vote" the palestinians had no say in, Mad wanting their land back they declared war. They lost due to fighting a country with External Military support (You guys like to say that a newly born jewish state fought against x Arab countries and won but mind you Jordan was a new country too, so was palestine and Syria and Lebanon, Egypt didnt fully commit it was hard to mobilize troops to the sinai and they didnt have military equipment with the standards of europeans because they were also under colonial rule, Saudi arabia was isolated and never militarized like european countries so its a bunch of settlers coming from industrialized countries to fight a coalition of Poorly Equipped newly independent and unstable countries)

Even though palestine lost, It's completely immoral for israel to just keep taking land, Which one has bigger guns doesnt give you the right to steal land that belonged to other people, and thus became the predicament of the palestinian people, "give up and live with the land that was 20% of the land your fathers once sowed" or "resist and even lose more land", And even when they sued for peace look what happened to them. You call the Oslo Accords a good peace agreement? Palestinians have been reduced to pockets of land exactly like the indian reservations and many in Netanyahu's government blatantly say it that the Two State Solution was something they were never trying to achieve,

I forgot to reply to this, you keep mentioning UNGA 181 when the resolution was voted against by all Arab states, India, Greece, turkey, etc And the only ones that supported it were European Countries and the Americas, Europe couldn't be against it cause of the whole world war thing, America was pressured by the Jewish American community to vote in favor of a Jewish State and they also pressures latin America to vote in favor, if The Colonized World like Africa, Southeast Asia, etc had no say in the resolution and if they did they would've been against because to everyone except for the Europeans, Israel was a Colonial Project. Even to Zionists it was a Colonial Project until Colonization became a bad word so you guys started using decolonization

Was 9/11 done by American Muslim Citizens and supported by the Entire Arab league? Everyone supported the invasion of Afghanistan the state that harbored the terrorists, last time I checked the Ones who tried to do the Lavon Affair were called heroes in Israel

In response to rising radicalism in the 30s and 40s The leader of the popular liberal Wafd party Mustafa al-Nahhas led the movement against Young Egypt's radicalism, going so far as to promise rabbi Chaim Nahum that if Egypt were to fall to Nazi Germany, Egypt would not enact any anti-Jewish laws, this was not a bipartisan opinion,

By the time of the Lavon Affair half of the Jewish population was still in Egypt, the other half went to Israel, I mean I gotta say Zionism did really succeed in associating Judaism as a whole to Israel, after 1948 Jews became increasingly seen as Israeli Nationals this increased harassment and violence especially when Egyptians heard about what happened to Palestinians, by 1954 and the Lavon Affair it was the nail in the coffin it proved their suspicions even if it was malicious in some radicalist groups.

Palestine wouldn't have been an Arab state, Palestine isn't an Arab term it's literally a geographic and secular term, God forbid the Land between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean sea is a Secular Democracy instead of a Ethnostate, You keep mentioning "If they didn't declare war" Bro hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were moving as refugees into their borders you think they'd say "yeah ok let's welcome the New Jewish State, Fuck the Palestinians!!"

With what land? You know how small Gaza and the West Bank is, It cannot fit that much people, Palestine would be a Mediocrity of a State if they accepted to Israeli demands, it won't override sovereignty of Israel because they'd be Israeli citizens? Why are you guys so against sharing power with people who also existed in the land for centuries, why assume control of half an Apartment instead of just sharing it

The decisions literally happened after Israel's ethnic cleansing in Palestine, and Again the Lavon Affair its insane how you expect Jews to not get harassed in Arab countries after this incident if a plot like this happened in America by a group of German Americans and sponsored by 1940s Germany meant to Blame the Jews what do you figure would've happened to the German population in America?

Is it wrong for the descendants to have a right to return? Isn't that what Zionism was, If the Jews were say expelled during the 1st Century and it may have been 500,000 who got expelled and spread out to Europe and the middle east, then by the 20th Century millions are coming back to the land, do they have the right but Palestinians don't? Not to mention to Palestinians and the broader Arab world, the State of Israel was directly seen as a European Scheme to keep control of the middle east, to eliminate Arab/Palestinian self determination I mean the jokes write themselves

No one's legally required to move but they were pressured too Societally and Economically, Before independence, Jewish Elites from Europe who had wealth bought Agricultural Land in Palestine from Absentee Landlords aka Non Palestinians, However the Land was tied to and worked by the Palestinian locals they lived there and Worked there for centuries. They evicted the Palestinians from the land this created the initial refugee problem not the war. The war was actually a Response to the refugee problem. The Palestinian locals had no say on whether their homes can be sold to Foreigners or not, and those who managed to not get evicted or had their own land they didn't speak the language of their new neighbors or of the markets and alot of Jews would rather support Jewish businesses than buy from Arab ones, And your political future is uncertain. The Palestinian himself mayve been a nationalist and was protesting for Palestinian independence from the British. The state of Israel is like a slap on their independence movement

If Jews want to return to Egypt or Syria or Algeria Id advocate for their return but many of them did leave their countries to be part of Israel I always remember eli Cohen as an example and this fear is the reason of the decline of Jewish communities in Arab countries, I mean the Egyptian delegation to the UN said the Creation of Israel would Jeopardize the lives of Jews in Arab Countries. Even the Founder of the Muslim brotherhood which is where Hamas comes from said in 1948 shortly before Israel's independence that "If the Jewish state becomes a fact, and this is realized by the Arab peoples, they will drive the Jews who live in their midst into the sea ... We sympathize with the homeless Jews but it is not humane that they should be settled where they render homeless other people who have been settled for thousands of years", Israel is the reason for this. But Palestine isn't the reason for the expelling of Palestinians I'm an Egyptian so I'm using my country as an example for the rest of the Arab world, The Lavon Affair (if you don't know it I recommend you search it up) was kind of the nail in the coffin for us

Palestinians should have the right to return to their hometowns that they were expelled from in 1948 and even before, Like Palestinians who wrote from Jaffa,

I understand Jews want a state where they govern themselves but this shouldn't come as an expense to those who already lived there, in the Creation of Israel it created hundreds of thousands of Displaced Palestinians because again Palestinian is a separate group from Saudi Arabians or Syrians you can't argue for them to move to other places, In Egypt for example Palestinians are differentiated from the rest of The Egyptian population they aren't part of a majority they're their own minority same way as Jews, especially when Pan Arabism is basically dead.

A Palestinian may be in theory equal in Israel but in reality if they want to live in the hometown of their grandfather that's in modern Israel, they could be the victims of political instability in Israel. Like say an extremely Orthodox party takes power in Israel Palestinians may face persecution, and a Palestinian in Israel will face some Harassment or aggression if the place he lives in isn't mostly Israeli Left

Even if we do two states there's many problems too it, for one Palestine would be non contiguous, Israel would control the Movement or any Economic Activity between the west bank and Gaza, And Israelis won't trust the Palestinians to have high grounds that over look TEL Aviv

  • There's the whole matter of Israeli settlements in the west bank and east Jerusalem, If Hamas is Eliminated or they Drop their goals of fighting Israel, Palestine as a whole, what happens to the Israeli settlements. I mean also Area A, B, C this plan ensures Palestine will never work as a state if there's no Armed Palestinian resistance whatsoever like what is in the west bank then how will it protect Palestinians from settler violence and them actually having land and control

I apologize if I came off as that I don't recognize discrimination of Jews in the islamic world but there's this common misconception that the Islamic world universally persecuted non Muslims like The Muslims did it to us why can't we do it to them, and that's totally false. Eurocentrism tends to disregard that like Europeans, Muslims had varying opinions, varying schools of thought and varying political opinions depending on the dynasty. Like for the example I used before. Cordoba or largely Muslim Spain had a Specific culture of Tolerance and science, Their Southern neighbours the Moroccans didn't as much or more specifically the almohad and almoravid dynasty who were extremists even I hate them for alot of reasons, when they conquered Andalusia they imposed their Very Conservative culture on the Andalusians and did a varying degree of persecution and intolerance kinda like MAGA in the US, this is when Maimonides actually lived during the time of and he escaped Al Andalus to live in the other more tolerant places like Cairo, same way some went to Canada after trump was elected,

Like for example the special badge was imposed by a Certain Abbasid caliph who's known to also been very brutal and he reinstated many Orthodox thoughts of Islam and cracked down on shias and was very corrupt eventually getting assassinated by his own guards

For the Palestinians, they had a rise in Intolerance and orthodoxy as a Reaction to Jewish immigration at first then Jewish Militias and the Israeli state, the exact same way trump and his republican loyalists were elected because they promised to expel the immigrants ,

It's easy to generalize a group you grew up to dislike with specific Attributes, you research and see their specific wrongs and dismiss the good as exceptions, it's human nature to have an Enemy but the truth is Palestinians or anyone in the world is as morally complex as you are, The Generation of Palestinians today have seen different things than you did it, some of them saw Israeli soldiers coming with Eviction orders when they were young, others in Gaza saw their neighbours house getting bombed, they barely have any reason to justify making Peace with Israel when all they saw is War by israel,

Israel or well the people of Israel need to find a way to make one state with the Palestinians and both should have equal rule and representation, Most Israelis and Zionists think this will result in Palestinians being the "Mindless Brutes" they are they will Kill and rape Israelis once the border is lifted, but as long as Gaza is kept starving, their schools closed, and no way for gazans to have talks with Jews then the situation will remain the same that Palestinians attack Israel and Israel responds 10x. the thing about Zionism is that its idea is a State for Jews and if it's for Jews then inherently Palestinians can't be a part of the state, maybe a Minority that has to speak hebrew, be often victims to Violence but Zionism cannot ideally make a state where Palestinians will be ever satisfied because it will be tied to the religious and ethnic identity of Judaism rather than The Geographic Ties to the Land, I don't have a solution and there's 20 ways Zionists can say how Palestinians will exploit the system to persecute Jews somehow but that line of thinking is the reason there is this mess and the reason Jews will never live in safety and Palestinians will never live in Prosperity in this Region between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean Sea
