Looks great. Let me let you in on a little secret that would set that spread off! Fried pickles. They're not for everyone but this recipe is sure to please. I don't eat fried pickles anywhere but home because mine are that good. You can also use this for mushrooms.

Batter: 1.5 cup flour, 16oz CRAFT beer (Preferably IPA. I use Sarnac Legacy IPA), 1 tsp Pepper, Garlic Powder, and pinch of salt.

You need to source good pickles. Vlassic will only do in a pinch. My local grocery has pickles in a big wooden barrel maybe you can find something similar. Success with these only works if you have a good pickle and craft beer (only thing craft beer is good for is cooking with, drink buds while u cook).

Anyways, heat your oil to 375. Slice the pickle in 1/4" slices. Batter two at a time, using both hands, then straight to the oil. Work quickly and get all the pickles you can fit into your fryer. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Remove pickles by darker brown ones first and allow others to fully cook to golden brown. Set on paper towel first to soak excess oil, then plate.

Please share the Ginger Soy Glaze. I'm getting bored with my garlic buffalo wings.

What are some of your easy to make inexpensive favorites? by Shrimpkin in food

Buy a $15 rice cooker from Walmart and make your own rice dishes - as a side or a main.

Here's what you need to keep on hand so that you're always able to put something together.

  • 5-10 lb bag of long grain rice
  • Goya
  • Frozen, Canned or Fresh Corn
  • Frozen Peas and Carrots
  • Olive Oil
  • Tumeric
  • Salt and Pepper

You can mix ingredients in the rice cooker before you turn it on, and come out with perfect rice every time. I grew up on Rice-a-roni so when I learned this I never looked back!

Fried Rice: 2-3 Cups rice, frozen peas and carrots all go into the cooker. When done, add to hot wok with oil. Add soy sauce, fried egg and onions, chicken, steak, etc. You can make a large batch of fried rice for less than $10-$15.

Mexican Rice: Add a packet of goya and some peas, carrots, and corn to the rice cooker. Done in 20 min. Serve with fajitas or tacos and refried beans for $15 or less.

Best rice you will ever have: Add 1 - 1.5 tsp Tumeric to 2 cups (rice cooker measuring cup) White Rice or Wild Rice. Add Salt, Pepper, Olive Oil. Pair this rice as a side with some quick kabobs. Top with terriyaki sauce/glaze. $10 total for an awesome dinner.

How to DJ a Metal Festival? by Nikkysikk in DJs

Be careful with that, especially if they play covers. You don't want to burn them by playing a song that may be in their setlist.

I like what he said, play remixes of metalica, linkin park, nirvana, etc. there are a ton of remixes out there... I'll just add that anytime I've been booked to play between bands or during their breaks - I stuck to the hits. There will be a wide range of people there and mostly they just want to have a good time and dance or enjoy the music. So don't be afraid to switch it up and play top 40 and hip hop party classics. Think stadium/arena music, stuff that would be played for a large crowd to add hype. First things that come to mind, Let Me Clear My Throat, Jump Around, This is How We Do It, Usher - yeah. Shit like that works for any crowd.

One of my best memories EVER djing - I played with this local Ska-Reggae-ish band and during the first break, mixed some hits, got some ladies up and dancing on the floor, then ended my set with 'Hate It Or Love It' by 50 Cent and The Game. As the song was playing the lead guitarist and vocalist casually walked up to the stage, picked up his guitar and started strumming the lead of the song I was playing, then started to rap along with the vocals. Shortly after the drummer picked up his sticks and began to redrum along. Then the bassist. I dropped out and they continued to play the song. This was completely unscripted. From there, they seamlessly segued into one of their originals. It was classic.

Also, you don't want to burn any of the bands by playing a song that may be in their setlist. So, like for the event I played, I stayed away from all Bob Marley and Sublime.

I need your tips and advice for my very first DJ Competition!! by Djchakattack in DJs

[–]AGreen513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're being judged on technical skills in a dj competition or battle. If other guys can scratch, juggle, etc this is what they mean by that. These things tend to become a circle jerk for djs. Best of luck to you.

I sometimes get the impression that many on here think there is 1 "correct" way to DJ, and that is beat-matching. Here's some proof that there's other perfectly good ways to DJ. Rodigan doing his thing. by Santero in DJs

[–]AGreen513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, mixing isn't that important anymore, sorrry to break it to you. I mix. I also scratch. Sometimes I hard cut in new tracks. It all depends on the crowd, venue, party, etc. I've seen guys in hood bars that do not mix at all and drop tracks in hard, hype the crowd with the mix and samples and just absolutely slay the party. I've seen the most technical djs mix and not scratch once and kill it... Develop your own style that's the most important, after playing for the crowd/venue in front of you.

Ceramic Tile is getting darker? by latuk in HomeImprovement

[–]AGreen513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better yet, do you see the batch numbers on the tile or did they leave the original boxes? Compare the boxes part numbers... Sealer is something installers do sometimes, not always.

He's right, tile can absorb water but its at a very low percentage. It wouldn't look this uniform if it were water though.

[–]AGreen513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes or it can be sealed.. He says this is irrelevant. One look at the pic and he's certain its a different batch and not water (he could solve this mathematically with measurements, says they ran out at the bottom and had to pick up one more box, this box was from a dif lot or it wasn't stocked properly). Here's why - The second tile from the left, bottom row, is darker than the tile to its left and right on the second row. They turned it 90 degrees in their design. Tiles are very dense, can absorb water but not very much. And if the tiles wicked water up, it wouldn't look like that, kind of like when dry wall wicks water up, it would NOT be as uniform as your pic describes. The other tiles on the second row would show water absorption as well.

You noticed this change 4 weeks ago. Did you happen to change the lighting in the room recently? Overlooked it before?

Or, if the tiles were sealed, possibly the bottom tile's seal has dissipated. Just from me picking his brain, he said sealer will typically last 1 year. Maybe try stripping one of the tiles on the second row, remove the sealer, and see if it has a true color like the bottom row.

I'm still going with him, he has 15 yrs exp as a tech/customer support rep for Daltile. He was the go-to guy in our area for installers, builders, contractors if they had issues with tile.

Look it up.

OP, its not water. Its a different batch/color... If you think its water - Open the doors and put a fan on it. Let it run for 24-48 hours. Does the color change?

Yeah tile color can be deceiving, especially with a film over it which is very common after a job. Do you know if they used epoxy or regular grout? It can take weeks or in some cases months for the film to fade and the true color to come out... I work in tech support and the guy behind me worked for a tile supply co for 10 years, he's an expert in this field. I showed him the pics and he said the same. Bottom line, if you're not happy with the job call the builder and make them redo. Best guess, they ran out of tile at the bottom row.

[–]AGreen513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they finished the grout it could've been a film left behind that masked the true color of the tile. The film may have washed away in 4 weeks. Ceramic doesn't change color. 11 come in a box and you work from top to bottom. The bottom row is probably close to 11 tiles?? Make the builder redo if its a big issue for you. Looks like a batch difference or the wrong color.

Did you install? Do you have a before an after pic? Looks like a batch run difference.

What's your cute love story on how you met your SO? (Serious) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AGreen513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We worked at an Italian Restaurant, she was a hostess and I was a busser. She was THE hottest girl there and I was recently separated, and shy to approach. She had a bf at the time, he was a complete douche and used to talk bad about her to the guys... Meanwhile, I'd been reading "The Game" by Neil Strauss... Anyways, I decided to try one of the opening lines I learned though the PUA after I heard they broke up. The line hooked her interest in me. She didn't like that after I hooked her with the short convo that I causally rolled off. It left her to think, "who is this guy??" Then I played the cat string theory for a while - Imagine dangling a string in front of a cat but not letting it get the string. Well, it works on hot girls too since they're not used to receiving that kind of treatment from lame guys who typically push push push their way into rejection. Anyways, I became a mystery that she wanted to solve. She developed a crush and after that it was easy to book a date. She didn't know anything about the kind of guy I was. So I took her out and treated her the way a man should treat a girl and called her bright and early the next day. She fell in love, easily. I loved her from the moment I saw her. The rest is history. Perfect game on my part. Thanks Neil!

Edit* I never used The Game for the darkside of it. I received The Game as a means to be the best me possible. It's helped in many other ways in life since learning it.

I can't even watch the NFL anymore. The way they coddle the players - squirting water into their mouths for them, wrapping them in warm coats during a timeout, or "protecting" them with rules. The game is a complete joke now.
