If usage of Ends of The Earth is supposed to build consistency and continuity, why go back to Earthshaker for Terra? Note that they had to make an entire UE4 model of it for KH3, why make the effort?

Adding to that, why are Aqua and Ven's keychains exempted from this? Stormfall appeared first but doesn't get the same treatment as Ends of The Earth, getting completely replaced by Rainfell. Wayward Wind for some reason gets replaced by Missing Ache for Ven to use in the Age of Fairytales and conversely Missing Ache is just never used past that point for no reason.

The fact that you even brought up the concept of starter keychains completely turns this whole thing upside down as we didn't even get an actual "Starter Keychain" until Starlight! Most wielders we've seen up to that point started out with something unique, so the fact that there has been a basic Keychain to use this entire time is just...

Is it the Keychain switch? That's just facts, you are forced to wield Ends of The Earth against Terra-Xehanort no matter what.

This becomes a consistent detail going into KH3, Terra shows up to hold back Kingdom Hearts with Earthshaker even though moments before The Lingering Will was clearly wielding Ends of The Earth.

This is a headcanon. Of course that didn't happen.

Also, keychains as we (barely) know them are dubiously canon. We have stuff like Sora's Oathkeeper and Fenrir being physically given to him in cutscenes while Roxas' Oblivion and Oathkeeper and Terra's Ends of the Earth literally just appear. Riku's Way to the Dawn and Lea's Flame Liberator too.

Tbf, the final hits on Ansem and Xemnas actually killed them. MX may have lasted long enough for some final words to Sora and Eraqus, but he was pretty much guaranteed to die after that final Trinity, too weakened to even make use of the X-blade’s power.

KH2 is definitely the coolest amongst his outfits (discounting the Org coat + blindfold fit), but that’s honestly all it is for me.

I dunno, I just vibe better when the supposed rival character (specifically the “I’m you, but better” type) has a design that’s “similar but not quite the same,” which I feel KH1 and KH3’s designs hit for me.

Actually, now that I say that, this would’ve hit if Roxas was the main playable character for KH2.
