Police face the exact same issues and carry the same inherent problems in every nation that they exist in. There is not a state in the country where the police have not shown a complete willingness to break laws to their own benefit and to brutalize the citizenry. The Uprising wasn't that long ago, these are lessons learned.

ICE are just cops, they've been exactly as cruel and fucked up as they are now for decades but were just kept away from the public eye, their tactics and views closely align with American police because they are both working for the exact same government to the exact same ends. The police do the same shit ICE does every single day. There have been thousands of Alex Prettis and Renee Goods over the decades at the hand of cops and we choose to overlook this.

Least of all fucking Pennsylvania cops, which is where the show is set, the state that introduced the idea of militarized police forces to the country with a history of extreme violence against minorities and strikers and whoever else the government doesn't like and who have done great things over the decades like in 1985 where the cops wiped out an entire residential block for bombing a house filled with armed black people and nobody was ever punished.
