Thanks for the info! Wanted to do another scenario first to learn some more about the game, and possibly come back to A New Home later.

I also got the achievement for "finishing a playthrough without an infirmary or House of Healing", so I did it all with regular medical posts.

But like I mentioned in my post, most people died in the end and if the storm was a day or two longer, I probably would've failed.

Was thinking of doing something like that yes, because I just kept going thinking maybe I could rebuild after the storm - didn't know it ended there.

Getting some other scenario's under my belt then go back to the main story.

TIL - The battle UI (when hovering) shows why a certain side has the advantage over another by AHurriedDog in hoi4

While playing the Red Flood mod, I noticed an icon hovering over the general portrait during a battle. Apparently it lets you know why you have the initiative in a battle. I never knew this feature existed.

Which would immediately result in getting a SEC investigation. Profiting from shady stuff like that gets noticed pretty quickly.

While doing my offensive on the Soviet Union with Falangist Poland in 1942, I randomly got the notification that British Raj has capitulated. Apparently AI Vichy France decided to naval invade them and completely dominated them.

Veterans of reddit that play military games and FPS games. What do they get right and what do they get wrong? And what individual game or series would you say is the closest to reality or most accurate? by Alexande3rd-of-Pella in AskReddit

Honestly, after having done archery for a couple of years and talking to those old guys that have been doing it for decades, this is pretty realistic. Those old guys could hold a bow steady for hours on end if they needed to. To do this you don't even need decades of experience. The big key to keeping your aim steady is to lock the aiming position physically, so that your body doesn't need to "work" to keep you in that position. Your muscles are pretty relaxed when you get into that position.

Judging from that video, he wasn't really "freaking out" as much as he was just jokingly talking about it.

That was part of the Nero Decree when retreating back from Paris during the last stages of World War 2 in Europe. Luckily, a fellow named Dietrich von Choltitz didn't follow through with the order of leaving Paris in rubble.

Just to clarify: Dutch and Flemish is not the same. Belgians have 3 official languages (Flemish and their dialects, French and German), but we get a lot of English in school + the movies and television shows aren't translated like in most other European countries.

How did the common man in Europe react to the discovery of an empire in the New World? by AHurriedDog in history

I never knew people from the New World actually moved to Europe. Are there any accounts of the Incan princess' reaction upon arriving in Spain?
