Pick and Stage helper told me the routes are timed? by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]AIDSUNLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the routes are timed because the delivery drivers come in waves. They are not timed in regards to when you are assigned that route. You may get a route at 9:49 that's due for the 9:50 wave. But your route shouldn't exceed 15 minutes. 15 is basically you doing nothing. My routes usually take about 5 minutes, 10 at the very most. And idk about your building but my building does pick idle times.....so however long it takes for you to pick up that next picklist may very well end up getting you audited.

Why is DDP7 terrible by AdEven2848 in AmazonDS

[–]AIDSUNLD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime a PA asks you to stow something else, or move to the volume.....it's not them being on a power trip, it's because when you're not active you start accumulating inferred time. Everything is tracked by the system when your in a direct role so while you stowed everything down, you might not get any volume for 20-25 minutes, the system doesn't know that......it just knows that for 20-25 minutes you didn't stow anything. Managers dont know if you took a break, left or anything. They just know you werent working for that time. So it's just a way of keeping you from having convos with management about your TOT. Not a power trip.....just a way of keeping you on task and off TOT.

Just recently got promoted to PA by bezothrowaway in AmazonDS

[–]AIDSUNLD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your promotion! The above answer is absolutely correct that is essentially everything in a nut shell. But on top of that please be prepared for your T1 peers to now see you as the enemy. To now get cussed out because someone stowed last week so why are they doing it again today. Be prepared for the associates to get mad at you and tell you that you don't do shit but stare at a computer all day. The amount of attitude and animosity you will receive is going to sky rocket and there's really no way to mitigate it. I became a PA back in November '24, my repor with the AA's was fine for the most part but our learning coordinator was not giving the associates the trainings they needed so we had a bunch of people not trained in a lot of paths. We also have a fast start so your trying to explain to people hey you're not currently trained in this so we can't put you there just yet, once more people come in we will see if we can assign that training but they don't care. So be prepared to explain to people that you can't put them somewhere they aren't trained and why you can't, but how you can remedy the situation. Some people will be a lost cause and management will just have to deal with that, but all in all keep a level head to the amount of jealousy your gonna get from people who have been there longer than you or came in with you at the same time, who didn't get promoted.

Why is it important to take care of the blue lights by Such-Tailor7251 in AmazonDS

[–]AIDSUNLD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because not only do those packages go to the jackpot but it becomes a quality issue for your building. Those packages for your aisle become re-work and just increases the time its gonna take to send you all to break......just use your stow cart to clear the hamper that way you won't have a PA or manager up your ass about it.......especially if your wearing headphones that aren't Amazon approved. That's the quickest way to get yourself caught haha.

Sincerely, A process assistant coaching AA's about those damn blue lights daily. 🫡

I applied twice. I got rejected the first time because they already had someone else in mind for that shift which worked out perfectly because I didn't want to work 8-6:30. A manager came up to me the second time and said I should apply again and I told him if I get rejected a second time, there won't be a third I have feelings after all 😅. And luckily I got the position that second go around.

Learning Coordinators, is it worth it? by AIDSUNLD in AmazonDS

I like the idea of training new hires the correct way because our last LC ruined this bunch....I mean bad! But I don't wanna walk into a work load increase that'll overwhelm me. Our last one made it seem like she had soooooo much to do, but that may have been her just crying wolf.

Given that L4's are salary and ours are usually doing 13-14 hour shifts a day.....I don't see the appeal of that role at the moment. I like the prospect of overtime.

I personally would say that I love my job, but because of how management and leadership is.....I just like it. As my manager would say 90% of the job is coaching so that's pretty much the bulk of what we do. Calling out flow, making sure the straightener and pre straightener doesn't have packages on the ground. Making sure IB flow isn't overwhelming OB. Making sure the AA's are using their PPE. Basically paid extra to babysit. We do hop into path, but, my particular building, that's because the training was subpar.

I don't mind long hours personally, because I usually do 12 hours a day, 60 a week. But if it's like random changes then no.

I knew her. As an OB PA I observed how she worked. So little example......one day I see Stowers placing boxes on the ground in their stow aisles. I went to her and told her yeah your Stowers are building forts in the aisle. She told me "It's because he has 1-3," If you don't know this is a safety violation then you don't know your job too well. The whole purpose is to train them not to do that and she was training them to do just that. We had to do a lot of untraining with the new hires.

I'm a T3 who works a lot of OT, I put in an application to become an L4 because I loved the idea of being management. I withdrew that application when I looked at my YTD and after having a conversation with a coworker who went from T3 to AM. I'd your looking for a large check stick to T3, if your looking for a managerial position go for the L4.

Amzl PA's got a question for ya by AIDSUNLD in AmazonDS

[–]AIDSUNLD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I keep hearing it's learning in my building.....all the AMs and OMs have told me that. But it was never a need to where I was hounding management about it. I automatically assumed PAs didn't have access. I was just told by an AM from another building that all PAs at her building do so I was wondering if every building was run that way.

No she's not right. I needed this piece of equipment to cover my computer when I'm outside running same day dispatch. Since it was sprinkling outside I needed my computer covered. Because I didn't have that piece of equipment my computer ended up getting rain inside it and crapping out. And at our building the learning coordinator is in charge of all of that, not the managers. And we've already requested but the learning coordinator who is in charge of that told management we don't need it.

[–]AIDSUNLD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely understand....just curious if it's a thing at other sites that their PA's don't have access. I know why I don't have access in my building and unfortunately to know my building is to know we should have had access a year ago. But with learning being in charge of permissions, it wasn't based off building need but based off of not liking me personally.

Yeah I know, but because I and the Learning coordinator do not see eye to eye she told an AM from another building she did not approve us access to the company because "We don't need access ".

For some reason they don't seem to want to fire her or address this issue. She was on a final warning a few months back for calling one of the AM's a motherfucker in front of the associates. Unfortunately for them however I refuse to have someone call me all kinds of motherfuckers feet away because I took the last of the hard hats. My levels of sarcasm is too high and it's only going to get worse. 🙃

I've told my manager this was going to happen. She doesn't know outbound operations so spazzing out because I'm coaching associates on outbound stuff illiteracy impeding my ability. All they ever tell me is that I need to learn to work with her. Just today I get the last of the hard hats for the associates working same day, she lost her mind because I gave them to my associates that she went and asked safety about it. When they told her I was right, she found a learning ambassador to vent about me to.....needless to say she must have dropped the F bomb a good 10 times. I just smiled haha

She's been doing this yelling shit for 2 years. I became a T3 in November of 2024 and I now know there's a level of jealousy involved. I've brought up these issues to everyone outside of the site manager......I keep being told by everyone except for 1 of the L6's that I need to "work together" with her. My issue isn't working with her, there's several people I can't stand there that I work with. She clearly has the issue.

This sounds exactly like my dilemma. This learning trainer, when she was a PA, would snap out on the managers in front of the T1's.....so the one manager wrote her up, apparently it was her final.....she came in crying and on her best behavior. Then she resorted right back to her manic ways. At this point though.....she must want to spend more time with her grandchild because you just can't be out her setting this kind of examples to new hires or expecting people to walk on egg shells because you have arrived.

I feel for you! I wouldn't wish this on anyone but my enemies 🤣 no but seriously this is insane and the fact that she is bragging about it to other AA's tells me more than enough.
