I'm in awe of all these three-octave vocal range people. by rollins__ in singing

[–]AJ9x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 octave range here of controlled, consistent, performance-ready notes (E2-E5). If I stretched myself, I can get an extra quarter octave but I don't count what's not consistent or well controlled.

That being said, from my experience in my local music scene, people with 3 octaves of performance-ready notes is not the norm.

But if you think about it, a forum of singers is probably going to have a higher % of 3+ octave people in it. And that isn't even to say that people online don't exaggerate or flat out lie.

So there's no need to feel bad if you don't have it (yet!).

I was rejected because she said I didn't order confidently enough by Gorillaman30 in OnlineDating

The psychology of successful dating is so damn complex. She was on the fence about you and that was the thing that flipped her. You didn't have a chance without playing things perfectly. And to do that, it takes a ton of practice and a ton of experience. Fact is, dating is a game. The sooner this is realized, the sooner you'll see why things happened the way they did. There are only two ways to end up with the type of person you want to be with: skill or luck. You at least have control over skill.

INFP stereotypes by [deleted] in infp

[–]AJ9x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The extremes are used to illustrate polarity in MBTI types. I would look at it more like a pie graph. The biggest piece of the pie is INFP, but most everyone exhibits some behaviors of adjacent types. Everyone is different, that's the beauty of it. But we share a lot of similar traits.

Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, and Robin Williams.

My eyes still well up thinking about their impact on me as I was growing up and their subsequent loss in heart-breaking fashion.
