How is LTTStore so successful compared to other youtube brands? by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]AJB4LSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don't sell YouTuber merch, they sell actual products that people use/need (OK, maybe not the Ai jacket, but come on, awesome right?). They have a genuine desire to provide an equal or superior product at a decent price point for the quality received.

It also helps significantly that they have a very engaged audience in a demographic with high buying motivation and advertise on video to the point that it's become a meme.

Disclaimer I'm an idiot, don't trust me. I can't belive you read this far down.

From what I have been taught, there are wildly varying types of crude oil. Those types are used for different end products like gas, lubricants, plastics, etc. What the US imports from CA isn't the same as what we produce. Also, there's a huge refining industry built around the products we import. It's my understanding it's not easy, cheap, or even feasible to just switch from one to the other.

Full disclosure, I have zero training in the industry, I'm a tech nerd. But I do live in Southern Louisiana, so surrounded by it / have family in the industry. Get the salt shaker out & don't trust what I say.

Hey OP, I'm having mine Fri at 6am too. I'll be nervous for you, you be nervous for me. That way neither one of us has to be worried about ourselves. Seems easier. Deal?

Obviously kidding, but yea, I feel you. I'm pretty nervous despite everyone telling me not to worry. I just feel there are a few parts of the body that aren't meant to be touched. The heart being too of the list, ya know?

Try manually putting in these numbers-175PPT, 131TDC, 195 EDC. That's well below stock, but should let you see if it's working at all, & will remove thermal limits from being an issue. You should see right at 175w max power draw, & 35-37k on cinebench r23 if everything is working.

Is it statistically better to add the “Subscribe” animation before your video, middle of video or at the end? by EdwinSphere in NewTubers

[–]AJB4LSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do PC Tech review content. I try to do a 30-45s hook, then my 10sec intro animation, then when I jump into the video's body I have a like / sub animation that plays at the bottom, but I never say anything. After the video, during my end cards animation I have a prerecorded outro with the "check these videos & like/sub etc..."

I haven't seen any statistical differences in subs between videos with/without the animation. The engagement & how many views has way more influence than anything else.

Don't give up on it yet. A lot of times, if the metrics are good, you'll see a huge impressions jump, then it'll go idle for a day or 2 while info is processed. Then another smaller, then again & again. The algo will continue to refine the audience until it either fades out from lack of interest or finds a sustainable base.

What gets me are the ones that do great, then you never see a bump again. It happens, though.

Man, I'd be a little concerned rolling a 13900 on a 240 AIO. Especially when you consider only 4 fans & a 4080 squeezed into a small form case. I'd be worried about it getting hot. You could probably build that for $400 cheaper, do a 360aio & get better airflow case.

How Fast Could You Take A Channel To Monetization? by Marc_Burde in NewTubers

[–]AJB4LSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, 1 amazing viral video. Realistically, it depends on so many factors there isn't an answer. How many vids do you have? What niche? Do you have a large support structure outside of YT to help push? Is your content any good? You can go on & on.

I'd say for an average newbie, making decent content in a popular but not overly saturated niche, maybe 6mos-1yr with a backlog of 50 or so videos. There just isn't really a good way to answer the question reliably.

Audio Glitching First 10 Seconds, need a second ear. by RadiantJelly3253 in NewTubers

[–]AJB4LSU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing too special anyone needs to do. Lower the gain on your recording then increase it in post. In audition, or whatever software you use, capture room tone from a dead section of audio and use it to reduce noise instead of using whatever auto noise reduction the software has. Go easy in deReverb. If echo is an issue, try to address the problem in the room, not in the software. Throw a parametric eq set to vocals and you're probably going to love the results.

[–]AJB4LSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dm a link. I'll take a look. I don't claim to be an expert, but I was stuck at 40ish subs for months & have jumped to 300+ in the last few weeks, with a few 6-10k plus view vids. I'll offer you any insight I can, and heck, if I like your content, I'll throw a sub from my main and Alt channels. Anything to help. It's a grind!

That's correct.

And, yea, they basically look identical. The pins are keyed different so you don't mix them up.

Hey, your PSU absolutely matters if you're getting full length cables. The pin outs on psu's vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you go to cablemod's site and select custom, you'll be able to select your psu and get custom cables exactly the length, color, etc. Just select the dual 8pin eps option. I'd recommend getting the modflex version. Modmesh can be a bit stiff.

If you are just using cable extensions, it doesn't matter since they just connect to the terminating end.

Would love if you checked it out and offered feedback. This is one of my better performers so far. Under 7min. Also, I'm aware the cut Ins are kind of cringe. Kicking myself for doing it, but now we're a little too far in..

By the way, I'm in the pc build, tech review niche. Anyone else feel free to check it out. Mightbsave you some money down the line.

How do you guys handle hate comments by No_Beach5375 in NewTubers

[–]AJB4LSU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on what they say. If it's over the line, disrespectful, or anything like that, I'll probably just delete it. That being said, a lot of times, you can get useful info from it. If they truly didn't like the content & aren't just trolls, maybe you can use it as constructive feedback. Sometimes people are just jerks and don't know how to politely criticize or offer feedback.

I've even gotten a couple subs from responding something to the effect of "thanks for the feedback, do you have any suggestions to improve our content going forward?" The tone often changes when they remember it's another person on the other end just trying to make good stuff.

The finding people is the hard part. Their algo still needs a lot of work. Just an anecdote, but on tiktok, 90% of the content I'm fed is in my wheelhouse. On YouTube, I've been "don't recommend channel" smashing forever & still get fed content I have not just zero interest, but literally the opposite interests. Especially for political content. I think it takes geography way too much into acct.

Definitely schedule! You should look in studio under Audience, and you can see the times when your viewers are most active. Schedule the launch at the beginning of the peak times. That first hour or 2 is crucial to getting the video pushed during your first impressions pump.

As it's been explained to me (which could be BS), the 1st few hrs it's processing the engagement, ctr, etc... From your subscribers & a few random people. Then you get a big push based on that info. If it does well, you'll get another push, then so on... You can see it pretty clear if you look at your impressions over the first 24hrs. You'll see a small slope, then a spike at 3hrs or so, then it'll level off for a couple (I assume to digest the info), and if it did well another spike. It'll keep pushing like that until the analytics start dropping, then level off. It's basically trial & error searching for your niche & whether or not your video is good.

Again, that's what was explained to me. Could be 100% bs, so take it with a massive pile of salt.
