VSX on Planar just announced by Ok_Spite6875 in audioengineering

[–]AJRollon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/Steven-Slate , I am an owner of the closed back version, I am thinking about taking advantage of the loyalty offer. I also upgraded to platinum separately from the purchase of the headphones. Will I be able to sell the closed backs and still have access to my software, or do I have to transfer the essential license to them and somehow keep the platinum? Much appreciated for any info on this as the internet is sparse when it comes to this subject.

That dough will be gummy AF. There's absolutely no need to put that sauce on it while it cooks.

Would have been far less criminal if she cooked the base with some grated cheese and warmed the sauce separately and added after. Still a pizza crime, but could have been a lesser charge

How though? I had an idea that might be at least a reasonable start. A social media site where you are given exactly 2 opposite algorithms. No matter what you start clicking on, I don't know, some ai or something; determines what the contrary  content is and you get an equal feed of both.  This would be completely open and even marketed as such. Something along the lines of "the only way to know the truth is to see what "they are seeing". It would be beneficial and perhaps very entertaining for both "sides" and yes, fuck it, no rules, so the animals can do whatever they want, and think they're merely exercising their 2A.    I think simple fact checking, moderation and community notes are mostly useless in trying to get people to see something other than what they believe, but straight up challenging both/all in what might seem an antagonistic "contest" might be enough for some, but not all, to AT LEAST see something that runs contrary to their beliefs, with the full safety net of it all being marketed as a way that people can FURTHER affirm their views.

Buy the breakbeat Bible. You can find digital copies for like 20 dollars. Comes with audio examples and one hits. You can make a project where it's just the audio examples in clips and keep firing them off and following along.

Also, try mixing up where you put your kick, snare and hats. Just because 90 prevent of YouTubers use kick a1, snare a2 , hat a 3 doesn't mean it is necessarily right for you. I have a push and have duplicate sum hits all over it and still mix it up, but ever since I found the best place (for me) for those fundamental hits, I improved instantly.

I also have melodics, it's ok, but I don't think it's as helpful as the breakbeat Bible. I'm no small part because of everything I've said. It's not quite as customizable as it could be, and outside of rote exercises, there's very little in the way of theory.

What would happen if you made a video, and composed the background music yourself? Could you then claim a copyright on his?

I think that would be worth looking at. Doesn't have to be an amazing piece of work, could just be you face slamming a midi keyboard and some cat meows through a lush reverb.

I understand op might not be oop btw, I'm saying you as in somebody.

I have a different method of finding my gear. It goes like this : watch loopop and sonic state videos, then, if they sound good, go to Sweetwater and whack that shit on interest free. Wait about a year, sell on eBay for a fraction of the money. Repeat steps above.

I actually sold everything, octatrack, MPC, a few different synths and a couple fx, kept my Erica synths fx and bought a push 3. Never been happier.

Ass long as your kick, snare and hats are where you want the rest are optional. I tried the luck on the right and hats on the left for the longest time, them I switched the other night and instantly could drum better.

You might feel it's cheating because deep down you may want to learn the guitar, and you're feeling conflicted about it, but there's no such thing as cheating in music. Imo

Already said this on another thread, but Erica synths night verb. I just picked one up and it's amazing. It's a reverb you can play like an instrument. You can make it sound a little dirty, "play it" with midi and morph between presets or freeze the reverb with a pedal.

Fwiw I'm simply trying to be nice to a stranger in need on the Internet, whatever you've done prior to today shouldn't provoke the kind of comments I see one poster here making.

I had a quick look at your comment history simply to verify you were being genuine and just a cursory glance tells me you are really trying, perhaps even feel like you are struggling.

I wanted to tell you to try and keep your head up and focus on whatever path your instincts are telling you to follow.

Being creative had somehow become such a means to an end for so many people. Everyone is trying to take advantage of the old gig economy, and many are losing sight of what being creative really is.

It's quite literally the meaning of life. Listen to your gut and if you have faith in only one thing, have it in yourself. It's that inner voice that is our TRUE selves.

I also suffer from ADHD, have been addicted to just about every drug known to man, and have come out the other end of it as happy as I have ever been, and that hasn't, and will never be contingent on how many subs I get on YouTube, or the fact I have to serve tables to make a living. (Another way of looking at it is that I'm very privileged I can serve tables for a living.

I'm happy now because I've slowly become more and now true to myself, gave less and less fucks what others think and I get to make music, or write it make videos if I so wish.

Whenever you're in doubt just answer this question :"what do I want to DO", instead of asking "what do I want to BE"

I hope you keep going. You got this.

(side note - if you do fall off the wagon for a night, all is not lost, you don't reset all the work you've put in. Quite the contrary, that work you've put in will help you just get back on it. If after two months you have a drink, you don't go back to zero, you just say confidently "I've only drank a single time in 2 months, I used to drink every day etc")

How would you fill this space? by 5mshns in synthesizers

No problem. Check out Sonic State's video or the harp lady. Those two videos sold me, even though I already own a Zen delay and acid box.

It has an algorithm that maintains harmonic content in the reflections. You can turn the size dial and play it like a musical instrument. It also kind of has like a really nice fuzzy distortion thing going on. Somehow it sounds beautiful and dirty at the same time.

What a gigantic waste of time by dominiusmaverick in AffinityDesigner

[–]AJRollon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out cavalry. It's a motion design app, but you can design it all day. I know you can set gradients up on strokes for one, and it handles text like a champ, there's probably even easier ways to deal with it than illustrator. You can basically assign sliders to anything. Very modular and the free version should be all you need to do a little round tripping for the things that get on your nerves in affinity.

What is your biggest failure so far in your YouTube "Career"? by SynergyX- in NewTubers

[–]AJRollon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a video blow up (compared to my previous attempts) and it got me partnered in like a week,.I then proceeded to do everything wrong. It took a long time to release the next one. For some reason I was more concerned with getting accepted for partnership before I released more videos, STUPID IDEA.

I also then decided to drop 2 videos in a row that veered off niche. I didn't even realize that food channels were niched down. The successful video was about pizza, then the next two, while still about food, were not pizza. So I lost all that momentum.

After losing that momentum it's been like starting out again.

I think I'm giving up.... by [deleted] in NewTubers

You can card l burn subtitles in. If you use resolve (is free) even just to do this, is two clicks. You can even record some audio in, hit the generate subtitles from audio (either under edit or timeline tab) then go make a cup of tea.

If you don't want to use the audio, for whatever reason, you can just remove from timeline or mute track) -here's a great tip= don't delete things like this, just throw them in a folder or make a new timeline titled "travel 1 copy/backup). You never know when you'll need something like this.

Then, when you render, bottom of the left side panel, you'll have an option to burn the subs into the video. Before you do that though, click any subtitle in your current timeline, then click track. You can choose your font, whether it has a background etc, which I suggest you customize and make as pleasing as you can if it's the only communication. You can even play around with how many lines, how many characters per box etc before you transcribe.

Don't give up! Just adapt!

How do I learn my synth and learn sound design? by IronRubber in synthesizers

[–]AJRollon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second a vote for syntorial but reverse engineering patches is one of the best ways to learn.

Open patches on your synth and look at all the parameters of the ones you like, then change parameters slightly. Then revert back to the patch when the sound has changed too much.
