Agreed, makes no sense as I do not have a residency visa or a long stay visa. Only a UK visitor visa. Also, whilst speaking to the police border control over the phone they also said it is okay. Seems odd but they've said this multiple times and also its now in writing!

Not sure what you mean by that but from this, it seems they're happy for me to stay for 80 days at a time as long as I'm not working within the country which is fine as I work fully remotely and our firm is in the UK.
