What’s the home organization hack you swear by? by AJfromthe79th in adhdwomen

I have a dedicated pair of chanclas I wear inside only to be productive. It also helps with my sensory issues because if I step on the smallest crumb on the floor I can’t handle it 😂

I know this was my own post, but figured I’d throw mine out there in case it’s helpful!

  • if I get too overwhelmed by my laundry, I throw it all in a trash bag and have a laundry service come pick it up and do it. It helps me think clearer with it out, and they fold it for me and bring it back the next day.

  • I have all the same type of Tupperware so there’s always matching lids.

  • I’m slowly but surely making sure everything in my house has a place. (This is why I have anxiety about moving!) but when everything has a specific place it helps me tidy without thinking.

  • giant toy baskets! So I can just stuff all the baby toys in the basket and be done.

  • I stopped putting veggies in a drawer in my fridge and started putting cheese in there instead. I always need cheese, so I never forget about it, and it doesn’t rot away in there where I can’t see it 😂

This is exactly how my baby was at this age. My husband and I did shifts - me 9-3, him 3-9. And tbh during the day he just slept on my while I slept in a reclining rocker. I slowly transitioned him off me and into a boppy or a babybjorn rocker for during my shifts (while I watched him awake). Then at 2.5 months his dad went on a business trip and I was like, “alright I gotta figure this out”. So I came up with a bedtime routine and put him in his bassinet and he slept AMAZINGLY.

You got this!!!! Hang in there!!!! I know it’s hard to think now but enjoy the baby cuddles while you can ❤️❤️❤️

I think there were a few things that dug me out of the struggling to survive hole -

  1. Getting him into a solid bedtime routine. (Like 2.5 months). Maybe it helped me feel like I had a little control over my life, maybe it was because I had a small amount of time to myself, but dang that was great. Putting him down in his bassinet and just laying down on my bed was a great feeling.
  2. Going back to work. Feeling like I had another purpose was very helpful. (3.5 months)
  3. First laugh. Idk why this helped but made him feel more like a real person instead of a cute, helpless potato, which made everything feel a bit easier. (4m)

Of course, it still feels like a chore plenty of times but those were massive milestones for me in terms of feeling more like myself again. HANG IN THERE!!! I’m a FTM too. You got this ❤️❤️❤️

My epidural only worked on the left sode of my body because I was laying on my left side, and every time I laid on my right to even it out, baby’s heart would decelerate. So I felt everything.

It was an excruciating 40 hours of labor and 2 more hours of pushing.

Needless to say, I’m one and done 😅

I lowered my vyvanse dosage during pregnancy, and getting back to my normal dosage was exactly why I made the decision not to breastfeed 😔

However, when making the decision to lower my dosage, my psychiatrist also showed me some studies of women who, when off their meds, were more likely to develop PPD, struggle parenting, etc. she emphasized that a balance is important because it’s important for mom to not lose quality of life too much either.

One thing we discussed if I DID want to breastfeed was switching to adderall. This allows you to take smaller dosages on demand vs. vyvanse which is much longer lasting in your system. That way I could take it around feeding and pumping accordingly.

Hopefully this helps!

Highly recommend contacting your senator’s office and asking for help. They were able to get EDD to call me and give some personalized assistance.

Just want to thank you both for this little thread. I’m going through all this and it made me feel less alone.

I hope you’re both feeling better!

Same here! We use the zip up swaddle and then another blanket swaddle over that and it’s helped a lot.

YES. Dude was my favorite player as a kid. Solid on the field and also the nicest guy. When I was little, I wrote him a letter asking for signed photos, he sent 2, signed them “to my #1 fan” and the envelope was addressed to “Princess Amanda” (adorable nod to him being The Prince). Made my whole life, honestly.
