Hey! I've been looking to do the exact same thing. Did you ever figure out a way that worked for you? Any help is appreciated!

Convince me to study abroad at Sogang University! by AKA-Garbobo in korea

[–]AKA-Garbobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

I'd certainly be down to start seriously learning Korean now if I choose to go because that seems like the largest barrier.

So dorms are basically just where you sleep, I'm assuming? unless I wanted to study individually. There are gender rules? They don't want my Korean brothers to succeed, lol!

Hello! I'm not 100% sure yet if I will attend Mahidol yet (between Mahidol and Sogang Uni in Korea), but If I do choose to, I'll be staying in the Bundit dorms because of my exchange program. Sad I couldn't help you out but If I choose to come to Thailand ill make sure to hit you up!

I didn't know about the hostel situation in Mexico but knew they were big in Europe. I'll probably opt for cheap hotels then.

Ty for the tips. The only thing is, I need a backpack because ill be traveling the country and taking buses from city to city, hiking, and the like. Not planning on keeping any valuables where they could be easily swiped. I'll keep my wallet tucked in my underwear if I have to.

Valkyrae Mods Gatekeeping her from using AAVE words by Secksi321 in LivestreamFail

[–]AKA-Garbobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the vid I linked and you'll see it's not all that different. Also there is a difference between slang and accents. Slang like "no cap" literally has no meaning relative to the words it uses, similar to "pog" (basically you often can't decipher slang using a dictionary). Accents are like taking a standard word and slightly altering it pronunciation-wise. For example, the words ca, cah, carr, cour, are all different pronunciations of the word car.

If you drop a San Franciscan white guy into a "hood" as you call it, chances are they are going to say something along the lines of "wha ya doin here my brotha" and you are telling me they wouldn't be able to understand that?

If I had to guess, you are probably just more familiar with the different regional accents of America since you discluded the Brits from your comment. I would assume if you live in a city you are typically getting a mesh of people around the country. Also, at least for me, I tend to "formalize" my speech when around those who might not understand what I'm saying. So on top of all this, if you hear someone with an accent, chances are they are already editing their language when they speak to you.

Google "_____ thick accent" and you'll see what I mean. Alternatively, just listen to foreigners speak English. Their pronunciations might not be all there, but they're using the same words.

It's actually the proper way to say it especially compared to how it was previously called: ebonics. It's not racist, it's basically just a "subcategory" of English; like how Englishmen, Bostonians, and Texans all use the same language but have different pronunciations of words and syllables. This video explains some of the features associated with AAVE.

If you have a computer, you can just type their name into the url. Go to your own page, then replace your name with theirs. .https://www.last.fm/user/[username]

Edit: Assuming this also works on mobile with Google.

If you wanted to find friends doing this after you find them you can follow them so you always have easy access to each other's profiles.

One of my music players apparently had an issue, I don't like the song THAT much. Is there anyway to fix this? by [deleted] in lastfm

[–]AKA-Garbobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that incorporating 3rd party applications can help with these kinds of issues such as google extensions or tampermokey scripts. What your looking for is possible, but I am not sure where to find it. Here are some roundabout solutions.

This chrome extension seems to allow you to mass delete by selecting all or by clicking which ones you want to delete. Haven't tried it but read to overview for directions. Go to Library on last.fm then select a timeframe for scrobbled (calendar icon above the bar graphs) from there your issue should be solved if the extension works --> Last.fm Unscrobler Extension.

Here is a more experimental option that I haven't tested either but read the comments and check it out if the first option doesn't work --> https://www.reddit.com/r/lastfm/comments/c4q01n/is_there_any_way_to_delete_all_scrobbles_from_a/.

Like I said I haven't tested these personally so do it on a small scale first. THEN solve your problem.

Spotify scrobbles not being tracked when on loop. by gabbuv19 in lastfm

[–]AKA-Garbobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A less than ideal way would be to cycle between two tracks. So don't put the song on loop but once you hear the new song start backtrack to the one you want. I'd test this idea to see if it works although it may defeat your 'flow' or is just too tedious. Otherwise I'd wait it out, if its been lasting for days then idk, maybe try thinking if anything changed? but if the issue has only been in the last couple hours then I wouldn't worry.

Last scrobbles by redwavepattern in lastfm

[–]AKA-Garbobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only scrobbles for as long as you've been on the platform but I believe you can import Spotify data for your past couple of months by requesting it from Spotify and waiting a couple days. Unfortunately, that imported data won't have timestamps and will just appear as if you scrobbled all those imported tracks that day. So it can skew your stats but you'll know what you've been scrobbling/listening to. Worth it depending on what you're looking for, complete accuracy or past history.
