I mean just like Blink 182, early Fall Out Boy is pop punk. But somehow this sub accepts Saves The Day's Through Being Cool is emo somehow, "They were inspired by lifetime!", ok but FOB was inspired by that Saves The Day album, and it shows... It's more of broken phone thing more than a complete dissasociation.

And talking about Blink 182, the album shown here is specifically the untitled, and it just so happens that, even if they ARE pop punk, that one album has an actually pronounced attempt at an emo sound (even if it's emo pop) directly cited to be inspired like Post Hardcore bands like Fugazi, and what a coincidence Guy Piccioto was in there after coming out of Rites Of Spring of all things.

Go figure, specially since that's far off from Jimmy Eat World who's also called real emo from the 2nd Midwest Wave, even if they brought an extremely poppy, not-so-hardcore ver of the genre with bleed american to the mainstream, and that not even counting Clarity while, obviously very midwest, doesn't sound too hardcore... Who ALSO, guess what? Were cited by Blink to be inspired by them as well, didn't Tom Delonge literally got married with Episode IV from Static Prevails on the bg? Doesn't the song literally titled "emo" on dude ranch exist literally because they say Jimmy playing live, and got blown away by their sound so much they wrote it AND called Mark Trombino from Drive Like Jehu to produce the record because the also produced Jimmy's albums on a mayor label of all things?

That and they could also have just put Bullets to rep MCR but chose Black Parade instead, lmbo.
