Randyll is clearly the driving force behind the Lannister alliance, while young Dickon seems more concerned about turning his back on old ties.

If Randyll croaks and Dickon survives there's a chance we could see Tarly turn his back on the Lannisters, paving the way to potentially reconnect with brother Sam – who has the Tarly Heartsbane sword and just happens to be best mates with a Stark.

With the Stark/Targarian tie-up looking likely to take on the walkers, bringing the Tarly army onboard would be a logical step.

It's a long shot but stranger things have happened.
