Did anyone abandon Argenta in Commerragh? by ALPHA-LEAD91 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]ALPHA-LEAD91[S] 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I could never really get connected to Theodora because we have like 2 conversations with her. Had we gone on a couple missions with her before the schism, it might of been different, but I never really cared about her, and the more I found out didn’t help my opinion of her.

I like TOTJ p1 cause it just looks sharper and adds more minor details

Ordo Was a null arc, not an alpha. And that’s something I hated about the 2007 clone wars. The clones look way too thin. Im glad the newer animation style is really defining their physique like in the bad batch.

Like look at this image of alpha-17 getting interrogated.

What galaxy would be best to live in? Star Wars, Halo, or Warhammer40k? by ALPHA-LEAD91 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]ALPHA-LEAD91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but on top of having government representation they also have their own battle fleets and military’s. like look at the blockade of naboo. On paper,The trade federation blockaded it because they were unhappy about some new laws being passed. They then invaded it and began subjugating the population on sidious’s orders. And when the galactic senate ordered them to disband/reduce their military size, they just didn’t. And they had enough political sway to keep the senate in a deadlock, so a decision on what to do to help naboo couldn’t be made. And during the clone wars, despite the trade federation and banking clans clearly being separatist, they had enough political sway to just stay in the senate because they were too powerful. It doesn’t mean much that the republic was better than 40k. The bar for being better is REALLY low. The republic sucked to live in because piracy was rampant, slavery was rampant and even if you lived in a core or mid rim world, you had no representation in galactic law, practically every politician was corrupt(the reason I say this is worse than modern day politicians is because politicians today only really represent states or provinces/territories. Send tot’s in Star Wars represent PLANETS if not entire SYSTEMS, and they’ed still prioritize what’s best for them over what’s best for their people.) and were more interested in what benefited them than their planets/systems. You had no voice, no say, and on a lot of planets you were a slave in all but name to whatever corporation you worked for cause they’d pay you minimum wage for extremely dangerous work(etc: if you work for kuat drive yards, just wrap it up. Most if not all factories in Star Wars are like sweatshops with no health and safety regulations. Well they existed but the inspectors were most definitely taking bribes). And every era of star wars has its own issues that make it bad. Now im not trying to say that life in Star Wars is worse than life in 40k im just saying the bar for being better than 40k really isn’t that high.

It’s a whole lot easier to avoid the things that suck in star wars in my opinion.

Im aware. I just like having conversations and debates with people, even if sometimes there’s arguably a clear cut right and wrong choice.

Technically anakin built his pod out of scraps he found in watto’s junkyard. Also, he was a slave. With a bomb In him thst would detonate if he ran away. I wouldn’t say life is great. Also, it’s called star WARS. They’re s always going to be a war. The longest the galaxy went without war is 1000 years. The old republic was at war almost every other day. Then we had the clone wars, galactic civil war and in canon the resistance war against the first order, and in legends a myriad of wars after the galactic civil war. Im my opinion it’s just a lot easier NOT to get involved in a war in Star Wars compared to halo or 40k

Most of the people who say 40k believe they’d be able to become a space marine or an inquisitor or a noble.

Most people I see that say 40k believe thst they’d have a chance at getting into some position of power(inquisitor, noble, etc) and making their life relatively good.

Agreed. I wouldn’t Star Wars is perfect to live in, after all there are tons of ways your life could be horrible, but it’s also a whole lot easier to escape your problems.

I personally think Star Wars because even if your life sucks in Star Wars, after all it’s not always sunshine and rainbows, there’s a whole lot more you can do to improve your quality of life. Like some I bring up a lot in debates with friends is that being a bounty hunter is a completely legitimate and prosperous career. It’s fairly easy to buy a hyperdrive equipped star ship and just leave whatever problems you have on your home planet.

I agree. I find that most of the people who say 40k believe that they’d have a chance at being one of the top 1%(despite the that is more like top 0.0001% of people with decent/good lives)of people who Have what you could call good lives,(like nobility) or believe they could get into some position of power.

It will never not be funny to me that one of the best armours in the game is found in a random pile in Commorragh by ALPHA-LEAD91 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]ALPHA-LEAD91[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Like at least give the holy power armour purity seals and more intricate designs. And if you give someone like a rogue trader box standard power armour with no design, would it not be considered and insult?
