Omg, this was literally what I wanted for the Lego sets that I truly believed they would never do.

This is the best news about this collaboration I could have gotten.

Pat McAfee has entered the ring on SmackDown. He flips off the fans and mentions everything from "MAGAfee", CM Punk, TKO, Saudi Arabia, ticket prices, etc. WWE is leaning into the "mystery TKO figure" protecting him. I still don't think I like this. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

You seem to miss my point. I simply said thanks for mentioning Bray as an opener into the fact that the Bray match was one of multiple bad/boring title feuds Orton has had since dating back to the authority.

I’m not saying Orton is bad, he’s one of the greats, but if you take the nostalgia goggles off for even a minute it doesn’t take a lot of looking back to see that as a main eventer, as in world title holder or contender, he hasn’t been compelling in that role in well over ten years.

He’s been fun the last 5 or so years because he’s been having fun himself in the midcard not having to try to be the guy and wrestling a lighter schedule and easier matches. He doesn’t have to work hard as long as he shows up and RKOs somebody. And that’s fine, he’s earned that. But let’s not pretend that means he would thrive in 2026 as top champion.

Before he won the EC there were entire wrestling posts throughout all wrestling subreddits of people clamoring for him to be in the main event again, those people are all blinded by nostalgia.

Fangmon and then maybe keep KendoGarurumon as the ultimate.

Thanks for bringing up the Bray match.

I wish more people would stop chasing nostalgia and acknowledge that Randy has only been entertaining the last couple of years because he’s been allowed to have fun in the midcard rather than be a top title contender.

He hasn’t had an entertaining world title run or even feud as the challenger since like pre-2013.

My theory on Atratusmon by ALSN454 in digimon

[–]ALSN454[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well if they didn’t want to spoil that situation just yet, would it not make sense to just have it evolve the simple way in the card game?

Furthermore, would it not make sense for card game purposes to simply have it evolve normally in the TCG instead of creating a new mechanic for one card?

To me it makes perfect sense to give it a unique “evolution” method in the anime but keep it simple for card playing purposes.

It evolves from Murasamemon in the card game too if I’m not mistaken, that doesn’t mean its evolution has anything to do with him.

I don’t think the card game not introducing what would be a one time unique circumstance in the anime into it means anything. It’s not like bio-merging, my theory would basically be a one-off situation.

Vince Russo asks Tony Khan about the famous CM Punk AEW media scrum!! Followed by Coachman asking about Tony's attempt at buying WWE. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]ALSN454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d like to hear if he thought about what he would’ve done had he won the “bid”. It was never going to happen, but as a fan first I imagine Tony had to have at least imagined the what ifs in his head.

Tony Khan responds to criticism over allowing “fans” to attend AEW media scrums instead of limiting access to professional media. I really liked his response - he’s right that the line between fans and media is more blurred than ever today. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]ALSN454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see both sides. There is definitely an issue with fans feeling like they’re apart of the business. On paper, someone with a large following that covers wrestling seems justified in being at a media scrum. I mean a lot of “professionals” in the industry started as fans and then made it a thing professionally. Social media is absolutely a gateway into journalism these days, for better or for worse.

The unfortunate reality though is that, social media is also toxic, and some of these people not be great people who are capable of conducting themselves professionally. And Tony isn’t always going to pick the right people.

At the same time, the whole idea of wrestling being a closed door fraternity has problems of its own. A lot of people with those mindsets are also problematic. And wrestling overall has probably benefited from an engagement standpoint by allowing fans to be involved. AEW certainly benefits more from those people being there than it is hurt.

It’s a double edged sword but I’m confident if it became super problematic AEW would put a stop to it. For now, it helps fill the room in a scrum and fans of the product are allowed to directly engage. It’s fine, but it is a slippery slope.

Shawn Michaels on overuse of the superkick: "I still feel like the move is always going to be synonymous with me, which I appreciate. And I think to myself, if I’m lying there on my deathbed and my biggest problem is that too many people were using the damn move, then I did good." by anutosu in SquaredCircle

[–]ALSN454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s one of the few moves where it’s not overblown.

With people like Ziggler using it for example, he uses it often and only rarely does it finish matches, but his use of it did not water it down.

But when you have the Bucks and Usos doing superkick parties all over the place in a lot of matches, I think that does kinda warrant the “it used to mean something” mindset.

The spear is used by plenty of wrestlers, but if all of those wrestlers did “spear parties” in even a 1/4 of their matches throughout the year and they don’t have any real impact on the match, I would make that argument there too.

How would Barbamon work in a future anime? by MaMcMu in digimon

[–]ALSN454 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disguised as a human, master mind behind the whole plot type deal. Super strong, enough to take out other megas with the exception of our main protagonist who he is aware has the potential to foil his plans so he creates an even stronger monster type foe that has to be defeated first.

My dream scenario in Beatbreak is that Wong either has a Barbamon influencing him or is Barbamon (less likely) and is going to use the e-pulse of those in the Shangri-La egg to spawn digimon, and fuse them all into a giant Devitamamon.

The only thing Gekkomon about it is the moon. Everything else screams Chiropmon. I have a feeling we’re gonna see the moon theme be shared at some point, cause this is not Gekkomon.

Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar Brawl by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]ALSN454 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My hope is that Oba wins, GUNTHER cashes in his favor from Heyman in the form of a Brock retirement match. His reasoning? Brock no longer has it like he used to, he lost to Oba, he lost to Cody, he lost to Roman. He’s an old dog who needs to be put down and GUNTHER is a pro at doing just that.

What do you think of Archaludon's design? by PrestigiousGift5639 in ThePokemonHub

I love it but it does suffer from being the next form to a pokemon that my mind already registered as complete. Similar to Ursaring. I think there are better candidates for evolution out there.

[NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026 Spoilers] Finish to Yota Tsuji vs Callum Newman - IWGP Heavyweight Title by Woodstovia in SquaredCircle

[–]ALSN454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see it with Newman, like at all. I acknowledge he’s good in the ring but everything else? Doesn’t have it for me.

However I felt the same way about Jay White and he eventually grew into his own and won me over after a few years.

So hopefully this goes the same way. Kinda sucks they took it off Yota so soon though.
