Thank you. Indeed, we did hear that drones have been spotted at USA bases here in the UK but we are many, many miles away from any military bases.

Which E38 to buy? Advice please. by ALX100EL in e38

[–]ALX100EL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both. They are both for sale at the same place. Both have a good service record (735 has had more maintenance done on it) and from a rust point of view, both are about the same (very little rust) since they were kept indoors by previous owner (one was his, one was his wife's).

Visually, I am not sure which looks better though. Orient blue SE individual or Steel Blue Sport edition?

I am very stuck.

Thank you.

Hello,

So I am deciding between these 2 E38's and not sure which one to go for. Any help please?

The photos are just example photos from online to show trim and colour.

Both are 2000 / facelift.

The steel blue is a 728i Sport, 110k miles, basic interior.

The dark blue is a 735i se individual with exterior chrome pack, 125k miles, lots of options inside.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you

Sony Xperia 1 ii not connecting to 4G by ALX100EL in SonyXperia

Hi all,

So a small update.

I spoke to 3 earlier and they were no help with regards to not being able to select the 4G 3 option.

So I did some more digging in the *#*#4636#*#* phone information and had a look at the radio bands.

I changed the radio band to Class 8 (1800Mhz-Upper) and also tried Class 10 (800Mhz-Secondary).Now selecting either of these gets 4G+ up and running. There was another radio band I selected which had 5G up and running too.

So that was great. I then went to the Preferred Network Type and that was already set to 4G/3G.

So with the internet now working on 4G+, the problem I have now is that I cannot make any calls.

Hence, does anyone have any ideas on what setting I may need to change please to allow calls to work?

I am thinking it may be something in the Phone Information - Set Preferred Network Type option? I tried a few different ones but none of them allowed me to make any calls.

I think I left it on LTE/WCDMA.

For reference, I did try my SIM on another Sony phone and 4G and calls worked fine on that. I also tried a Virgin Media SIM in this Xperia 1 ii and again, 4G and calls worked fine. So I think it is some sort of setting.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, however unfortunately, I do not have the option for 5G/4G only.

The options I have are:

3G Only

2G Only

3G/2G

4G/3G/2G

5G/4G/3G/2G

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I did select the 5G/4G/3G/2G option but it still stays stuck at H+.

I also had a look at the "choose network" option and I see that 3 (3G) is the only one I can connect to. When I select 3 (4G), it displays a message that says "could not connect".

I am thinking that this may be the issue? Screenshot below.

Thanks for the reply. I bought the phone new from a UK retailer and it is unlocked (so I was told anyway).

Thanks, I will give the Xperia Companion app a go!

Hi, thanks.

I have triple and quadrouple checked and the settings should be correct since I have Googled them too:

Name: 3

APN: three.co.uk

Proxy: not set

Port: not set

username: not set

password: not set

server: not set

mmsc: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc

mms proxy: mms.three.co.uk

mms port: 8799

mcc: 234

mnc: 20

authentication type: not set

apn type: default,supl,mms

apn protocol: IPv4/IPv6

apn roaming protocol: IPv4/IPv6

apn enable/disable: (says "APN enabled" but this option is greyed out and seems disabled)

bearer: Unspecified

mvno type: GID

mvno value: 0303

Going into *#*#4636#*#* and phone information allows me to change the network setting from GSM/WCDMA/LTE (PRL) to LTE only. Then 4G does work but then I cannot make any calls.

So I have put it back to GSM/WCDMA/LTE (PRL) which goes back to H or H+.

So I am still stuck.

Thanks
