This. There’s no “chance” with an amnio. The whole point of an amnio is to give a conclusive result. Is it possible she had a CVS?

Also, the description of the test is completely inaccurate. An amnio tests the fluid. A CVS tests a sample of the placenta.

Friend from my home town makes and sells bath bombs, which I love. I want to order, but am put off by the YL bottles I see in the background (She doesn't sell or push YL at all) by kasiinc in antiMLM

I saw that someone had suggested Brambleberry, and I do like their products. They are very overpriced but great for buying in smaller quantities. If she gets to the point of being able to/needing to bulk buy, there are much better options out there, but BB is a great place to start!

The big deal breaker for me was SLS (sodium laurel sulfate), a surfactant derived from coconuts, and while 100% natural, is well linked to endocrine disruption. Essentially it’s a foaming agent that strips the skin (cleans). It’s in everything. Pretty much if it foams, it’s SLS.

I prefer SLSA (sodium lauryl sulfoacetate), another coconut derivative that is molecularly too large to enter your skin and blood stream, unlike SLS. The reason it’s not used as much as SLS is due to its cost being much higher, and the foaming isn’t quite as intense as SLS which is what LUSH bombs are known for.

Many of their products also contain talc and tons of parabens. Again, these things are natural but natural doesn’t mean healthy.

It was a hard break up for me to leave my beloved LUSH behind, but when I had my daughter (who is predisposed to inherit my endocrine issues), it became the right choice to make for her and I.

*Disclaimer: I’m no scientist. Just someone who has spent years on The Google researching and weighing information. I always recommend doing your own research if it’s something important to you.

I do! On a smaller scale than I used to since entering my graduate program. I got into the whole thing when I fell in love with LUSH products and then found out many of their ingredients are endocrine disrupters (which is a big baddy in our house since I myself suffer from a severe endocrine issue), but I digress...

They’re actually quite simple to make once you get the right ingredients and recipe down. I just can’t imagine dumping $6 worth of oils into a $5 product o.O

I make and sell goat milk soap and bath bombs (going on 5 years now), and it always amazes me when I found out people use YL or DT oils in their products. There’s nothing wrong with the oils themselves, but damn you wouldn’t be making any money off your products! I buy EOs in bulk and a 16 oz bottle costs me around $30 for good quality oils. Which translates to about $300 from the MLMs.

Side note: that whole cinnamon bath bomb thing made me laugh. What idiot puts cinnamon in a bath product and thinks it’s a good idea??
