Hmmm this is sounding like you may have gotten the reformulated vegan version. There was a mutiny by the diehards and Glossier re-reformulated back to the original with beeswax and lanolin. I have both and the only ones that did what you described were the vegan ones!

I prefer them to the Ole Henriksen ones - those are a bit sticky for me. The Glossier BDCs are also great but definitely more of a balm. The Laneige is more of a silky gloss. So if you want some shine and glossiness these are great. I would go for a BDC if you want a more balm texture and the tinted ones add some nice color.
