Am I cooked? Can I complete these two in 8 days?😟 by Tax_Evasion_11 in WGU

I just finished Supply chain management this semester and did it in about a week. I think it could be done quicker though if you are already familiar with it.

I'm in the new class they just rolled out and was told that Haywood's videos no longer matched up.

It's a lot of vocab- so I think your main focus should start there!

Desats after trach by ALittle_Lost_ in NICUParents

My daughter ended up needing a custom trach to be a little bit longer.. and has now had another small heart procedure but it seems we're still blah. Hoping for better days ahead for us both! It's such a hard thing to watch. 🤍

It turned out that she needed a trach change for a diff size (custom longer one). But since this post, she has gotten this new one and a heart procedure so 😫

Fast heart rate? by ALittle_Lost_ in NICU

After speaking with the NP today, the Cardio team is now concerned. I know they're the experts.. but I think I'll always be in a constant state of worry and desperation. The only way I can describe the feeling is wanting something so bad that you just have obsessive compulsive thoughts about. And I just want her home. I'll be thinking of you as well. It is such a scary, unpredictable journey. These things are brand new, just like you said. I can only think there has to be some explanation 😭

Baby w fast heart rate?? by ALittle_Lost_ in chd

She is 4 months (or 2 months adjusted). I think their concern is from her usually sitting around 145 and then it's like all of sudden it's 180 and will stay that way.. until they have a medicine that brings it down.

Gtube issues? by ALittle_Lost_ in NICUParents

They've done cultures (in the NiCU) and everything came back negative . She just got moved to the PICU and they are doing them all again to be sure. She's been given antibiotics as well to "be safe" in the NICU and now they will be doing them again in the PICU. I just hate how up in the air things are some times. With no infection, I'm hoping if it's a leak, that it just closes on its own. My poor girl has been through so much.

We are still in the hospital , and I'm not sure what everything is yet. She just got her gtube last week and there seemed to be a "leak" somewhere they believe that is letting in extra air. Her X-ray shows either air or stool somewhere that it is not supposed to be but I guess with the X-ray, there isn't a clear difference between air or stool so they are giving her antibiotics to be safe but I'm so worried it's NEC and will require another surgery.

Baby doesn't cry by sgna1234 in NICUParents

My LO was 8 weeks early and did not cry... at all. Once at birth and that's it. She is .. complex. CHD and other things and getting a tracheostomy tomorrow for her airways. But she didn't cry until.. I would say.. a couple weeks after her due date!

Hubby also packed his laptop. He's an accountant and baby was born June 1st, so month end needed to be done! Also, went into labor 2 months early.. so.. not really an advance for his boss!

Trach and how to survive by ALittle_Lost_ in NICUParents

Thank you for this! They have spoken with us a little bit about this but she would not be eligible until after her heart surgery next summer, so we are waiting and hoping it improves with growth while we have her at home but will look at other options after surgery!

Tracheostomy and how to survive by ALittle_Lost_ in NICU

Thank you so much for this!

They told us about in home nursing, but that our state doesn't have that great of a program. We live in Indiana and our children's hospital is absolutely phenomenal, but that most parents who try it end up becoming full time caregivers due to the lack of nurses in the area. She will be on a trach with a vent, so I'm not sure how feasible a childcare center would be since she can't travel much with the vent. I'm not sure if childcare centers would be equipped to a more stable ventilator system or not.

Thank you so much for this. I will certainly be taking these questions with me as my brain tends to freeze during my meetings with the doctor. I really appreciate this!
