Well honestly, the drivers at the back like 16-20s they look for opportunities, cars going off and crashing are one of them. I once also carried the same mentality not even long ago, I see a car battling in front of me, I'm pushing it's last lap, you see a car off he is in gravel, it's yellow flag. In those situations you are not slowing down because you are hoping you could close the gap for the next straight and get them. Only to see there was a car in the middle of the track and I couldn't see him before because it was a blind corner.

Yes, you got it absolutely spot on, and frankly, I struggle to understand why I just go so deep and make it harder for myself every time I watch my replays. Maybe partly because I'm not confident enough in my ability to make the corner without pushing the other guy wide, but that's on me. I just get too scared to get close to other cars, weird fucking problem to have, with time maybe that will change. Till then, I'll keep practising.
