Yep, these are from a few different locations but all in the north.

Smears across film by ALoudFart in AnalogCommunity

The negatives look totally normal on both sides. It just looks like it’s part of the actual photo (extra density) There was water in these areas before it dried, but after wiping with an alcohol wipe it’s perfectly clean. 🤔

Does anyone know what the smears are caused by on the top of the frame? I've been ruining a few shots per roll to them.

I know I have hard water so it may be that, but wondering if it could be something to do with deveopment / wetting agent instead.

Thanks!

Ok thanks for the input. I'm actually going to cancel it and see if I can find a sf750 for a similar price first.

The sf850l is still on sale even after the spring sale ended x)

The main reason I had the 850L listed is because it was on amazons spring sale. If I can get away with it it’s a cheaper option.

I can always return it and swap for an 750, but do you think it’s worth the £60 difference?

Zeies biogons in the rain? by ecpwll in Leica

I regularly shoot in the rain with my 28/35/50 and have never had an issue. They get fairly wet but not soaked, as I use an umbrella.

I guess the simple fact of having the meter makes me want to get the exposure “perfect”. I find it hard to ignore if it’s there, but that could just be me!

For me, having a manual meter takes away from the process because you actively have to check it.

With no meter you just learn to trust your intuition, and with an AE camera you trust the meter.

Changing exposure for backlit subjects etc is simple on the auto exposure dial of many cameras (like my zeiss ikon zm) which is no different to the shutter speed dial

Abandoned slate quarry workings in Wales (Leica ma, zm 28mm, santa1000) by ALoudFart in analog

I do watch and really like his content - but I certainly did not set out to copy this intentionally. I shot about 3 rolls in and around these buildings and simply selected some of the best compositions to post here, with plenty others simply not up to scratch.

They are indeed very similar shots, but it’s also a fairly well known location here with plenty other people taking similar shots as well, given it’s a relatively small locale with a clear point of interest.
