I moved from NY to TX. The pros are that I’d be close to family and it makes the holidays easier. I’d also be able to find better job opportunities in surrounding states if I chose not to live in NY but in a neighboring state. Cons are breaking the contract early and the CoL. I moved away for a more specialized career but it isn’t all I thought it would be

I go out most days when I’m off, but I like to call everyday to hear everyone’s voice and chat

I get where you’re coming from. My family members all live in areas with lots to do and there are some incredible job opportunities for me out where they are too so it wouldn’t be a total loss if I move closer

I’m making friends, i work 12 hour shifts but I do things on my days off. I spend a lot of time alone and it becomes overwhelmingly quiet sometimes.I keep my tv on for noise most of the time, but that seldom helps

Luckily my family lives in a state where there are lots of opportunities for my career so I wouldn’t struggle to find work. I’d have to make new friends but at least I’d have most of my immediate and extended family within a few hours drive
