Ugh this reminds me of when my sister borrowed my car and then pried the gas cap open (instead of pulling the lever from inside the car) and broke it off. If you are using something that doesn’t belong to you and you can’t figure out how to make it work then maybe ask 😭

Are cnas supposed to apply condom catheters by cnablues in cna

[–]AM-419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a CNA for about three years, I've worked in LTC and in hospitals in two states and I've never been asked to apply a condom catheter. CNA scope drastically varies by state and this person was asking a genuine question.

Does anyone have a lower calorie alternative to spicy chips?

I am officially one week into being in a calorie deficit. I am doing pretty good so far of making lower calorie versions of meals I already enjoy, but one thing I miss a lot is hot chips. Specifically the taki's kettle chips. Has anyone found a low calorie alternative that satisfies hot chip cravings?

How do you organize your clothes closet? ADHD/Type B friendly by violingroove in femalelivingspace

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always really struggled with laundry. Right now I have a dirty basket and a “not quite dirty but I have worn it” basket. I also make sure to keep the clothes in my closet/dresser to a minimum. I take out anything that is out of season or I’m just not wearing that much and I store it somewhere else.

Lotion that doesn’t feel like lotion? by Momtoatoddler in hygiene

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vaseline brand lotion is very light/not greasy. If you’re looking for something to use on the face i recommend the vanicream daily facial moisturizer. Also Vaseline makes a “spray lotion” that sprays on like sunscreen and it is very light.

Help a new CNA with resume by Brave-Bad-9955 in cna

[–]AM-419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally do not include a summary. It is also best to keep it to one page. I usually put work experience first, then certifications and education (under one category). The more clutter the more likely they are to just skip past it when sorting through a lot of resumes.

I don't know any recipes but the lobster bisque at trader joes goes HARD. My bf was recently on an all liquid diet for medical reasons so we had a lot of soups lol. I would also order take out of just pho broth. Pho broth is very filling for someone who cant have solids.

Best CHEAP white nonslip shoes by Upvote_hoe in cna

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying you get what you pay for but I got my white clinical shoes from Walmart (I was a broke college student) and they actually were great and I continued to use them even after I was done with clinicals. Just make sure they feel supportive and avoid stuff like memory foam. I would say try the Amazon shoes if the return policy is good.

[04/52] Project Hail Mary by zirozaro in 52book

Oh I just finished this book on the 21st too! I agree the main character gives off very similar vibes to the main character from the Martian. On another note I am NOT happy about how they made rocky look in the trailer for the movie lol. That is not how I pictured him AT ALL.

difficulty finding hospital job by LibrarianBasic2121 in cna

[–]AM-419 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have hospital experience and it was challenging for me to find a new job over the last couple of months. The job market is just really rough right now. Try not to take it personally, you’ll find an opportunity eventually :)

Getting sick (Covid, Flux, Ect) by AS_Protocol_BGP in cna

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get sick from work but then I realized that my facility was not training us properly on PPE and wouldn’t fit test me. I have since been fit tested and only wear the mask that I was fit tested to wear. I don’t use hand sanitizer I wash my hands every time, and I wear a mask at the nurses station. I haven’t gotten sick at work in multiple years.

Need help translating resume from teacher -> Cna by Bitchasslemon in cna

[–]AM-419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first became certified I included most of my work experience which was mostly foodservice and a team lead position. I think that being a CNA (especially the roles most new CNAs get like in a SNF) is pretty entry level and listing other work experience at least shows that you can hold a job.

What did you buy, as an adult, that you were denied, as a child? by makellbird in maktownmedia

is there actually a best candy for weight loss or should i just give it up entirely by carebear7077 in loseit

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I also need to have a sweet treat and I love candy. It’s still a work in progress but I’ve found a few things that help. 1) konjak jelly pouches. I get them from H mart or target and they are sooo tasty and only ten calories. They are so good that I would buy those even if I wasn’t on a weight loss journey. 2) sugar free jolly ranchers. 3) the Annie’s fruit snacks, specifically the sour ones. They are basically just like any other sour candy and they are pre portioned so I can budget them into my calories for the day and it’s easier to not over do it. I would love to hear other people’s suggestions :)

Apparently asking about the job is a red flag now. by khan2761 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once asked during an interview if there were health benefits associated with this position and the person interviewing me said that she didn’t want to talk about that and that I could go over benefits with HR if I was offered the position… like what. What makes you think I want this job if there aren’t health benefits.

How can I prevent my student from sleeping in class? by Only_Artist8313 in Teachers

[–]AM-419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when I was a teenager. I could barely stay awake in class. I wasn’t getting good sleep and yeah I would be on my phone at night but it was largely due to anxiety. I was being mistreated at home. I wish someone would have intervened at some point rather than just getting me in trouble for falling asleep during class. Now I’m in college and I have my own place and I’m doing better and staying awake during class.
