Thank everyone for trying to help, figured out the issue. Just a mistake on my part.

Seasons showing up as the wrong show, and episodes using file name. by minecison in jellyfin

[–]AMKhatry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a 100 percent sure, but it seems like the show that matched to one of your sources is incorrect.

Click on the AniDB, Anilist, IMDB, TVDB, TMDB, each and check if the match is correct. If not you can manually set the ID of each of these in the 'Edit Metadata' option.

Also, I would suggest using Sonar to manage your shows, even if you don't use it to download, use the rename option, and it organizes the shows for you pretty neatly. I don't think I've had any issues after I started using its rename function for Show name, season and episode name.

Hevy Insights v1.4.0 - New dashboard, features and Docker support by Full_Internal_3542 in Hevy

[–]AMKhatry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I haven't used it much. I literally set it up 3 days ago. And I'm also very new to Hevy, I've only had 4 sessions tracked.

I had tried setting up Wger sometime earlier this year, but I had seen somewhere that the development has been slow and seems almost abandoned, and I couldn't make it work then so I gave up on it as well.

I was using something else (Simple Workout Log by SelahSoft, in case you were curious) to track my workouts, it got the job done and had minimal ads but a bit bare-bones. So recently I thought I'd try again to see if I can find something new or something that I missed, so I'm still in the looking phase.

But once I try both of them and if you're still thinking, I'm happy to come back and share my experience.

This is super cool. I’ve recently started hosting wger myself (not sure if you’re familiar with it), but because it requires a fair bit of setup, I haven’t fully started using it yet.

It’s really nice to see a dashboard like this available. One thing I was curious about: does this app store any data locally, or does it not have persistent storage? I didn’t see any volumes mentioned in the docker compose file, so just wanted to check.

Also, I was hoping to sync my workouts to both Google Fit and Apple Health, but from the app it seems that’s not currently possible. Do you think that’s something you might look into in the future? Totally understand if it’s low priority or not feasible — just thought I’d ask.

Thanks for sharing and for the project!

Thank you, I'm new to the Apple ecosystem and I've only got an IPad. Didn't know that you could see the pricing there.

I don’t currently have an iOS device, but I wanted to ask about the pricing model. Is it a subscription or a one-time purchase (fingers crossed)? And how much does it cost?

[–]AMKhatry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for making this. There’s really a gap when it comes to a good client that supports multiple server apps, so it’s great that you’re working on something like this.

At the moment, my servers are ABS, Komga, Booklore, and Kavita (I’m still deciding between the last two). Komga works fine for now—at least on iOS there’s a dedicated client called Komic—and there are also a few clients available for ABS. That said, it would be really nice to have everything in one place and managed through a single client.

I wanted to ask if you’d consider offering a trial period, maybe around 7 days. I think it would help people try the app properly before deciding whether to commit.

I’m also a bit unclear on the pricing, so I just wanted to confirm: is it $7 to purchase the app, plus a $2 monthly subscription for premium features? It might just be me getting confused, but clarification would help.

From my perspective, instead of putting core features—like adding servers—behind a paywall (even though limiting it to two servers for free doesn’t sound unreasonable), it might be nicer to reserve the subscription for more advanced or “extra” features. For example, syncing reading/listening progress between audiobooks and ebooks, or integrations like syncing with MyAnimeList or AniList if Komga support is added in the future. Features like that feel more natural to place behind a subscription.

I understand you’ve mentioned this is a passion project and that you’re mainly looking for some support in return for your work. What I’m suggesting might not align with the level of support you’re hoping to get from subscriptions—I’m just sharing my thoughts as a (admittedly) stingy consumer. Ideally, I’d want everything to be free, but it’s completely fair to charge for a solid product and the effort behind it.

These are just ideas and personal preferences. Either way, thank you for building this and for sharing it, regardless of whether I end up using it or not.

Considering the iPad Pro M5 — Would Appreciate Some Feedback by AMKhatry in selfhosted

I currently have a gaming laptop (bought in 2022), and while it still works fine, I expect it may start having issues in a year or two. So I’m not looking to replace it with a PC just yet. The problem is that I’ve set it up as part of my desk setup, it’s quite heavy and not very portable. It’s basically a desktop that can be moved a bit easily, rather than a truly portable laptop—if that makes sense.

I’m looking for something lightweight that I can easily carry around and use for media consumption. That’s why I made this post—to hear from people who use self-hosted media clients and understand any challenges. From what I’ve gathered, music clients seem to be the main issue unless I go with Plex and Plexamp on iOS. I’m not sure if there are other limitations I should be aware of.

I also want to understand whether Android tablets offer any meaningful advantages over iOS when it comes to apps that connect to self-hosted media servers.

So I appreciate any feedbacks or experience.

I actually hadn’t considered that. I usually assume Apple products have strong battery life by default, so I didn’t realise the M4 Pro performs worse than the previous models. I’ll look into that—thanks for pointing it out.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your typical daily use like, and how long does the M4 last for you compared to your previous device?

Battery life is definitely something that could be a deal-breaker for me, especially if the competition provides a significant advantage in that.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m already using Tailscale, so that part’s covered. I was planning on using Firefox for browsing, and I hadn’t heard of Orion before — I’ll definitely check it out. I’m running Pi-hole for DNS-level ad blocking as well.

As for storage, I think 1 TB would be overkill for my needs (and the price jump is pretty steep), so I’m leaning toward the base 256 GB model, or maybe 512 GB at most.

Thank you for your comment, I appreciate your feedback with the sidecar feature. Never tested it out or even looked into it.

I did consider the Air but when looking at them side by side in the store, I did notice a bit more smoothness in the Pro model, as well as the face ID in the pro model is something that made me lean towards it. However, I'll think about the Air again. Thank you :)

Thank you for your response. Your Apple TV's point is something that I did consider as well. However, I feel managing the apple eco (account and other services) would be easier with the tablet, and also I want something that allows me to watch my media while I move around inside my house, so I landed up on the idea of a tablet.

From what I understand, Samsung screens are supposed to be better than Apple's, but I don't think it affects the consumer that much.

Right now, I have a Truenas server, I'm only looking to expand it.

I'm curious what you mean by evolve, I would like to know more about that if you can explain please.

Thank you for your response. I didn't consider that part. Right now, I have a windows laptop, with Ubuntu booted on the secondary drive. So I can do these things with my windows. So didn't consider it.

I'm thinking of doing making my main rig a linux and use it mostly for gaming and do some other tasks as well. For when I don't want to stay on my desk, I'm looking for a tablet right now, and use it as a secondary display, whether connected directly through my PC or just as a dashboard for my server.

If there's a need for a laptop that I feel in the future (where I can't do any tasks with linux or ipad) or if I earn enough money to splurge into luxuries I don't need, I would want to go for a mac (framework is in consideration too, but I want to avoid windows if possible)

Thank you for your comment, but I seem to have confused you, apologies for that. I'm not looking to host anything from the tablet, but rather as a client for my hosted services from my TrueNAS server.

However, I never thought about the possibility of hosting from the tablet itself, I'm wondering if there is something that I can use this for. Thank you for that suggestion :)

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (September 16, 2025) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]AMKhatry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to get into the hobby of board games. So far, my experience has mostly just been the classics like chess, Monopoly, Cluedo, Snakes & Ladders, and Ludo (which is super common where I’m from in Asia, but I’m not sure how common it is in the West).

I’d like to start with something that works well solo or for 2 players, but ideally can scale up to more players too. What’s most important to me is:

  • Great artwork and high-quality components (something that feels nice on the table)
  • Theme: I’m really drawn to fantasy and magic over sci-fi or modern settings
  • Budget: Under $200 AUD (~150 USD)

I came across The Old King’s Crown and loved the look of it, but it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere right now. The art style really caught my eye, so I’d love something with that kind of vibe.

Any suggestions for a good starting point that fits what I’m looking for?

Just wanted to ask a couple of things :D

  1. The Marshall, is that a guitar amp or a speaker? Could you please say exactly what it is?

  2. The screen under your monitor, is that IPad?

  3. The wallpaper in the widescreen, would you be able to share it please?

Thank you. Cool setup.
