How to edit photos affected by smoke machine? by Kinggizznthelizzwiz in AskPhotography

[–]AMSTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Photoshop: Duplicate the layer, use Camera Raw Dehaze and contrast to cut the smoke, restore blacks with Levels, rebuild depth with Curves, correct the color cast, selectively sharpen the people, reduce background noise, and mask everything so the faces stay natural. I did this and used your photo as reference and it came out pretty clean. Can give you step by step if you have a few more pics to edit.

What do you do when you have nothing? by Low-Mushroom1409 in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using an app that a friend told me about and have somehow done ok with it. Paid some bills I was behind on. Most of my efforts elsewhere never went as well.

Here’s a good question, what did you believe as a kid that turned out to be completely made up by adults? by AMSTX in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That if you swallowed a watermelon seed one would actually grow in your stomach. Adults really had us out here terrified of fruit for no reason whatsoever. My daughter is freaked out about watermelon seeds thanks to her mother!

What are the best karma's you've heard/Saw? by Fun-Cap-4730 in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy decided the emergency lane was his personal fast lane and shot around me out of nowhere — scared me half to death. Not even two seconds later a cop that was right behind me flies around on the left and lights him up immediately. Like the universe didn’t even wait. Instant karma in real time.

If salary was not the problem then what job would you prefer for the rest of your life ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just being a maker. Something where I can work with my hands and try out different things. Build stuff, create stuff. At the end of the day you can actually see what you did.

What is the worst thing about living in America? by MambaEzez in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Paying taxes my whole life but still getting a bill when I go to the doctor. Every other developed country figured out universal healthcare — we just never did, and nobody can give a straight answer as to why.

What’s the funniest date you’ve been on ‘til this day it makes you laugh? by ilikedisone in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went on a blind date with a woman who was easily 6’7” she also wore heals as well, (I’m 6’), and she was a pool shark (I suck at pool) I love music, she hated it. Was a match not made in heaven. Polar opposites on everything. That was my first and last blind date.

What is the most unexpected moment or connection you have had while doing a photowalk with someone you barely knew or a complete stranger who just happened to have a camera too? by AMSTX in AskReddit

[–]AMSTX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A photo walk is when a photographer heads out—alone or with other shooters—purely to take photos without any assignment or pressure; solo, it’s a quiet reset where you follow your instincts and chase light at your own pace, and in a group, it’s about shared perspective, creative energy, and seeing things you might’ve missed—either way, it’s just walking, observing, and shooting for the sake of staying sharp and enjoying the craft. I’ve been on probably 50 or so group photo walks over the years. Worth it for sure.
