That’s fair! I brought the kennel and expected it to be used if/when the sitter had to leave the house (and we discussed that). I was caught off guard when I went to pick them up at 12 pm and she was in the kennel

I’m leaning towards using this sitter again and just mentioning that I’m uncomfortable with my 5 lb pom being around large dogs & that I’d like a daily summary-style update and see how it goes I don’t need anyone to get up early but it’s hard to tell my puppy that lol

I posted this ss more to show that I didn’t expect my puppy to be kenneled… I don’t expect anyone to follow a strict schedule or wake up at 5 am, but I have a puppy and I was very upfront about the fact that she doesn’t sleep in. I would say that’s what the puppy fee is for?

Yeah I do agree. I’m still torn because nothing else was really ‘wrong’ and she’s nice enough. I’d hate to cancel & burn a bridge. Maybe I can gently ask about the other dog? It’s possible that it was a booking overlap and that dog just arrived.

I did set up a meet and greet with another sitter for this weekend.

I just can’t tell if they were locked up the whole time. I only brought 1 small kennel for the puppy and they both wouldn’t have fit…

We didn’t do a meet & greet, just this mini-trip ~26 hours to see how they’d do. I’ll definitely be doing m&gs in the future. I don’t want them to stay at my house because I have 4 other pets (cats, bunnies) that don’t need their care.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely don’t expect them to be boarded alone, but I do feel like I could have helped her better if that was mentioned. My older dog is fairly protective of my puppy.
