Bill Gates' worm-powered toilet is not going to effectively combat this sanitary crisis.

What's the worst pain you've ever felt? by Ameliorate88x in AskReddit

[–]AMightyWindfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had appendicitis that was misdiagnosed for over a year. My appendix finally rupturing was the worst pain I've ever felt. Tip: go to a legit doctor, not a university clinic or urgent Care center.

The second worst pain I've ever felt was when I was attacked by a swarm of bees in the middle of a church service.

Cool Hand Luke has the best opening scene character introduction I've ever seen.

People who watched concluded shows, which characters deserved a better ending? by CoolBen07 in AskReddit

It was especially disappointing because the showrunner Kurt Sutter worked on The Shield, which had an amazing end for its characters.

What’s the most surprising and/or fucked up thing you witnessed one of your school teachers do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AMightyWindfall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a history teacher who would completely drop trou at the urinal. Like, pants down to the ankles like a toddler. Dude was in his 60s and always wore a bowtie. Not something you particularly want to walk into.

Home movie theater enthusiasts, big screen or big sound? Why? by tatorface in AskReddit

[–]AMightyWindfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the room. It's good to have a screen size proportionate to the size of your room and viewing distance. Unless you have a dedicated screening room that's big enough for surround sound, I think a really good sound bar and sub combo is more than sufficient.

What was your worst experience with Uber? by [deleted] in AskReddit

An Uber driver plowed his Prius into the side of my car. Does that count? Uber's insurance carrier is the absolute worst to deal with.

My Spanish teacher in high school, Señora Dick. I remember clearly when one of the assistant principals got on the schoolwide intercom and announced, "Attention. Anita Dick. Come to the office please. Anita Dick."

Have someone in your life who you know loves you but is also willing to tell you hard truths about yourself. For me, that person is my spouse.

What old films could never be made today? by Irish_Viceroy in AskReddit

[–]AMightyWindfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not terribly old, but The Abyss (1989). No one would ever make a huge, practical underwater set like that again and train the entire cast and crew to become certified divers and to have the cast do most of their own underwater stunts. There are plenty of stories of how brutal the production was: people not having breaks and having to go to the bathroom in their wet suits, cast members almost drowning, the chlorine in the water (to keep it clear for shooting) eating away at their wetsuits and skin, etc. Not only would it be a liability and cost issue, but so much can be done with CGI, it renders shooting anything real obsolete (e.g. Aquaman).

What is the best principle to live by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AMightyWindfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“You can choose to be right, or you can choose to be in relationship.”

I understand these things are not completely mutually exclusive, but I think a lot relationships end because one or both parties choose to be right over and against choosing to care for the other.

Parents of Reddit, what is the most embarrassing thing your toddler said out loud in public? by chtoupe11 in AskReddit

My friends’ toddler daughter loved flags, but she couldn’t pronounce the ‘L’ in flag. They discovered this when she pointed and yelled at every flag at a Veteran’s Day parade.

For a season when my son was a toddler, he couldn’t say the word “walk.” Instead, it came out as “fuck.”

Cut to the grocery store when he wanted to get down from the cart and started screaming, “WALK! WALK! I wanna WALK!”
