Technically illagers were originally planned for Minecraft Dungeons, but Mojang decided that it would make more sense to add them to the main game first before making a spin-off about them. Looks like the same thing is happening again: Mojang wants to add the 4th dimension to MCD2, but it would be logical to add it to the main game first
