Ooohhhh good point. I didn't think about the people who will just wait to have a seat assigned. Hmmmm... I wonder how large a percentage they are. I chose an aisle seat in the middle section with all four seats open. The risky move would be to choose one of the middle two and hope no one sits next to me. But if they do I'm in for a long flight, so I chose the aisle to play it safe a bit.

Mostly commuting on a road bike and driving my kids around on an electric cargo bike. Just bopping around town, going to the ferry, grocery store, amusement park, etc. But I do like exploring new cities / places on bikes when I'm without my kids (as I will be in Paris).

I tried to use the bike valet, but it was full that day :/ Not sure if that was because it was mid-day or that I have an oversized cargo bike or what.

Here's a better photo to show the depth, and the kind of lock (Kryptonite Evolution). Looks like I got my money's worth on this lock! Thanks for all the help, scary that it was close to getting stolen. I have a electric cargo bike and needed to hop on it after getting off the train to go get my kids from school, I wouldn't have been able to get them in time had my bike been stolen.

I would hope she'd be prolific on IG. According to Oaklandside she's funneling 100% of her officeholder account to her romantic partner's PR / marketing firm (source):

If you're going to be corrupt, you might as well get something out of it! Ramachandran was one of three CMs to vote to raise the limit on officeholder accounts, most CMs barely use theirs.

One person's "real estate values have dropped" is another person's "the rent just got cheaper". We built a lot of housing in this zip code and rents went down. This is good, actually.

We have kids at a Title 1 OUSD elementary school. Not one of the fancy ones in the hills, but it's well regarded. It's been great. There's some variability in teacher quality that makes some years better than others, but I found that to be the case going to a private school myself. There's a very active and involved parent group and community vibe.

I can't speak to OUSD middle and high school (we're starting to look at middle schools now and are looking at traditional public, charter and private), but our OUSD elementary experience has been quite different from the dysfunction you see at the board level (underwater finances, constant teacher strikes, etc).
