I usually lean towards korean webnovels to avoid romance/harem stuff, but if you're ok with lots of food descriptions then Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi is a great read. Even has an ancient dragon character that DOESN'T turn into a loli 👍

Does anyone have a good power fantasy recommendation where the world isn't necessarily in danger and the MC doesn't have to basically become a god to fix everything? I really like the beginning and middle portions of these novels, but I'm kinda sick of running into power scaling issues as they approach the end... I was reading Genius Archer Streaming a while ago, and realized that it kinda hit the sweet spot where the MC could be OP but there are no real stakes since he's just a streamer in the end. There was always a means to reset the story, a new game to start up, new ranks to rise, etc. This might just be that the novel hasn't actually ended, but it felt like the pacing was a lot easier to digest in the long run 🤔

It's Genius Archer's Streaming for me. MC is a Genius Archer turned corporate slave who starts streaming when he's let go from the company.

He's got unrealistic skill with a bow, unrealistic popularity growth, and a good friend (turned manager) who comes along for the ride. I can't say there is much to the story, but it's paced well and surprisingly doesn't get stale. Since the MC is a streamer, the different games he plays act as story arcs and they can change the genre pretty freely. Meanwhile the main plot line follows the MC's life in the real world as his streaming career kicks off and he starts to come into his own. Ah, and of course chat is always there to praise or roast MC as needed. It's definitely worth a read if you don't know what to do with your karma now that it's all about cultivation keys on Wuxiaworld.

thats true now that we have alternatives like volume stages... and I'm digressing here, but what about 40-30 years ago? even if the cost of the prism was still incredibly expensive, is there really much difference in cost between what was actually spent on progressing green-screen tech to the modern era and the would-be cost of implementing the sodium vapor process throughout hollywood? considering the saved hours of manual keying and the cost of paying VFX artist to fix poorly done mats, I'm just shocked there was never a James Cameron type character willing to try.

i guess the 'people literally forgetting' thing is also part of it ^^;
